Visvesvaraya Iron and Steel Plant, a Unit of Steel Authority of India Limited is a leading producer of Alloy and Special Steels situated in Bhadravathi, 18 Kms from Shimoga, Karnataka.
Recruitment is being made for the posts as mentioned below:-

1. Mining Mate
Number of posts : 02 Posts
Pay Scale : Rs.8630-3%-12080
Age Limit : 18-28 Yrs. for General & 18-33 Yrs. for SC as on 01.01.2010
Qualification : Matriculate with valid Mining Mate Certificate restricted to open cast mining issued by Director General of Mines Safety or Authorities empowered by him

2. Blaster
Number of posts : 01 Post
Pay Scale : Rs.8630-3%-12080
Age Limit : 18-28 Yrs. as on 01.01.2010
Qualification : Matriculate with valid Blaster’s Certificate issued by Director General of Mines Safety or authorities

3. Mining Operator
Number of posts : 02 Posts
Pay Scale : Rs.8630-3%-12080
Age Limit : 18-28 Yrs. for General & 18-31 Yrs. for OBC as on 01.01.2010
Qualification : Matriculate with ITI from recognised Board with heavy duty license issued by Road Traffic Authorities

4. Gas, Fuels & Boilers
Number of posts : 03 Posts
Pay Scale : Rs.8630-3%-12080
Age Limit : 18-28 Yrs as on 01.01.2010
Qualification : SSLC with ATS- I/II Class Boiler attendant Certificate issued from the office of Director of Factories & Boilers of the States concerned

Project Details : - Six Sigma is a strategy seeks to improve the quality of process outputs by identifying and removing the causes of defects and minimizing variability in manufacturing, services and processes. Operation theatre utilization time is stream lined by Identifying defects and loopholes of OT. Main aim is to reduce the time, cost and increase the revenue of the hospital. The data’s are collected by live observation and from surgeons in the Hospital. This project identified the core problem faced in OT. Before the project there was only 6-8 Operations was done in a day, but after the project implemented the number of Operations increased to 12-15.
