My Career Objective
Having worked in various roles over the last 7 years, I have progressed from being a Radio & Television Announcer Producer to Broadcaster/Producer/Public Relations Specialist with further progression onto Human Rights Activist, Entrepreneur and Videographer. I last headed a team of 20 Public Relations officers and am looking for a move into a more challenging technical area in broadcast production. I have excellent management, intuitive, communication and motivational skills giving all within the team I am part or head of, the guidance, support and an experienced view of how objectives should be met and executed for any production hence enabling the company I represent to move forward and achieve its ultimate goal.
My skills include reporting to managers, CEOs and board members on a monthly basis which includes programming projections and producing innovative ways in which we will meet our targets. I am an excellent communicator and am able to communicate at all levels from board down to factory floor. Over the last 6 years I have exceeded targets set by the company on a 30% year on year basis by being innovative and giving my colleagues quality assistance and direction.
My main goal now is to advance into a capacity offering guidance and experience on a more day to day running of an operation in order that within the projected period it will be a well marketable product on the local, Caribbean and global front, meeting all of the intended goals and exceeding expectations over a given period of time .
My Ideal Company
The ideal company I am looking to be a part must have a no holds barred philosophy and foresight for the future. Ideally this would be within the communication, more so broadcasting arena in any sector with the aim of achieving global recognition and appreciation for the company and myself rather than being personally lined and grounded only to a specific community despite which, I am certain that my communication experience would be beneficial to both operations.
Availability : I am currently under no contract and would be available at any point.

Digital Audio & Video Editor
This was my most technically oriented employment, in performing my duties I was never assisted with the production of any of those programmes. The task was the creation, production and inter-distribution for airing on what would be one of Guyana’s newest television stations and also it’s first satellite streamed station that was specifically to enhance the learning capacity of the population and the learning essentials that all should have. From the given syllabus, I worked with a learned teacher who presented the lessons to a small scaled classroom, while I did the videography of the project. This was the closest to a no-holds barred approach workplace I had ever been apart. However due to political obstacles and delays my tenure was not long by my choice. There were only three other technically oriented staff, an electrical handyman, Website designer and the Director of the project who’s main focus was the identification of the learning materials and the publicity of it.
Senior Reporter/Producer/Presenter
My last position involved working in a team of 6 producers, reporters and videographers and 5 board members and 1 manager. My main role at that time was the presenting of the magazine programme First Look and also Anchoring the morning news which was rebroadcast during the lunch hour. Prior to which I performed the duties of a reporter with responsibility for producing local stories for publication and airing with a focus on social issues and youths regardless of the sector (health, education, religion or entertainment) aired on the first newscast of the preceding day Monday to Friday. I was responsible to the Coordinator and the main Directors of the Board and conducted fortnightly meetings with them advising on budget planning, focal points for the upcoming weeks and months and targets met and that should be met. I was responsible for the producing of news scripts and stories for airing. Some stories I would have produced included the Food for the Poor Guyana village development project, advent of the Polymerase machine, KidStage Guyana (search for young talent), the University of Guyana’s Quality Assurance work, etc.
Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA)
Guyana March – Nov. 2009 Clerk III Public Relations Officer
Reporting to the Public Relations Manager and the Head of the Communication & Public Relations Unit, and working as part of an important institution in Guyana in its new Public Relations unit for combined liability and comprehension of taxation, my main role was to achieve and enhance the level of comprehension and awareness of the various taxes administered and adherence by all stakeholders. Having control over some 50 agents I successfully managed to month on month over achieve the company targets by some 30% in 9 months. I was able to effectively communicate at management level as well as with my colleagues and I was considered of a persuasive nature. I operated as a very good team player giving advice and sharing my successful techniques to my colleagues to help them achieve their targets aiding the overall success of the team and the company, giving them all the ability to increase the level and percentage of compliance that was needed to be realized, the highest in the company history in such a short time. I was responsible for producing press releases, advisories, notices and advertisements for the GRA; producing features for the “Focus on GRA” television programme, televised throughout Guyana on all local stations. I worked simultaneously on projects as videographer, photographer, presenter and producer with minimal oversight by managers which was done through a final inspection of the broadcast product before distribution which had never been recalled but rather streamed on the company’s website and local stations.
