    The AP Associate is primarily responsible for supporting Accounts payable function of multiple assigned corporate entities in India. AP Associate would also be responsible for providing support on all month close related activities including preparation of schedules, follow up on deposits / advances, regulatory reports and variance analysis etc

    Operational Responsibilities :
    - To receive all the vendor bills from various business units and collating them into excel data base
    - Ensure that all the bills are properly approved and consistent with GCAP Policy
    - Capturing the correct department code and expense code for each transaction
    - Entering the data into Peoplesoft
    - Timely submission of bills to AP team for processing in Mumbai to ensure reduction in turnaround time
    - Follow up with Mumbai team on payment status and to keep the business informed regarding status of payment
    - Ensuring completeness of payables on a monthly basis
    - Accounting for vehicle lease transactions
    - Maintaining data base of all contractual vendor and details of terms and conditions
    - Checking all the bills against vendor contracts and other supporting docs
    - Follow up of pending employee travel advances & other reimbursements
    - Preparing monthly schedule of outstanding vendor advances and sustained follow-up on a regular basis to settle over due advances including reconciling vendor accounts
    - Petty cash management
    - Bank Reconciliation and related entries
    - Preparing the petty cash expense statement every month
    - Weekly Bank Reconciliation

    Monthly Responsibilities :
    - Perform monthly AP close and review of AP transactions
    - Preparing monthly schedule of outstanding advances to employees & vendors
    - Providing support on -
    - Calculation of monthly provision for expenses
    - Monthly expense analysis of actual against provision
    - Monthly historical spend analysis
    - Month close variance analysis
    - Filing monthly statutory and regulatory returns

    Other Responsibilities :
    - Assist the team on any Adhoc requests
    - Participate in cross-departmental projects

    REQUIRED EDUCATION & TRAINING :

    1. This position requires a professional qualification in accounting.
    2. Should be a graduate in Finance, Economics, Business or Accounting or semi-qualified Chartered Accountant/ Cost Accountants or MBA (Finance)

    EXPERIENCE :

    1. One to two years of financial and accounting experience in a large entity preferably in the financial services sector.
    2. Experience with automated financial systems.
    3. Good understanding of Accounts Payable
    4. Good understanding of tax and other Corporate laws
    5. Proficiency in Excel and Word is required.
