Job Description :
* Architecture and Design
* Migration Planning
* Feasibility (Modelling, Lab Testing, and Tool Building)
* Development and Test (administrator training begins)
* Pilot (end-user training begins, support infrastructure implemented)
* Infrastructure Deployment
* General Deployment
* Operations and Support

Key Responsibilities :
* Carrying out mail migration from Lotus Notes to MSE
* Leading a team of 2 – 3 engineers
* Should be able to do Migration, Planning, Implementation and providing solutions within TAT.
* Extensive experience in designing / implementing /migrating /administering.
* Hands-on migration experience
* Experience in multi site to multi site transition

Soft Skills Requirement :
* Good understanding of operational practices and requirements to operate a high availability and secure environment.
* Should have excellent inter-personal and communication skills with the ability to deal with users at all levels in an organisation.
* Ability to successfully handle multiple tasks while under pressure.
* Compliance with all IT and corporate regulations, policies, and guidance.
* Be able to communicate complex technological issues and solutions to co-workers and to upper management.

Qualifications : Should be a graduate / post graduate / BE
Experience : 5 - 8 years

Project details
Project name : Effective remote control of electric motors using GSM technology
Role : project leader
Description : The function of a Motor Protection Relay (MPR) is to protect three-phase induction motors and additionally to communicate this data to the System Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) in a control room. In the case of remote sites e.g. a pump station, the protection relays are used as standalone units. If a trip occurs or settings need to be changed a technician has to visit the remote site and address the problem. The ideal cost and time effective solution is to remotely perform these tasks via a reliable wireless network. A study was conducted to ascertain the viability of using the standard GSM cellular networks in South Africa to effectively control electric motors and to communicate with MPR's. It was shown that a Node Controller could be used to store all the data from various electric motors at a single location.
