Technical
Provide technical expertise to the team on the services provided by the company to its customers

Plan daily operation for execution as per agreed time lines with customers

Solicit and promote business with technical as well as commercial input

Train the technicians on the job requirements

Take responsibility for the budgeted numbers and strive to over achieve the targets month after month

Be abreast with the latest developments in the field


Customer
Strive and achieve 100% customer satisfaction by timely reports, by providing technical advice to clients, when needed and proactively anticipate and satisfy the client needs

Provide timely reports on the activities and future outlook for the business

Represent the Metallurgy department in inter-department and client meetings

Management
Motivate the team for superior performance and be a conduit between employees needs and the company

Conduct periodic team meetings with specific emphasis on Safety, Health & Environment (SHE), technical updates, etc.

Plan and Manage department employees’ leave with minimum effect on the operations

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization`s policies and applicable laws.

Departmental responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving conflicts.

You have a minimum of 10 years of experience working in a laboratory in the field of metallurgy testing, with at least 5 year of supervising and leading teams.

You have a Bachelor`s Degree in Metallurgy or related discipline, preferably followed by a Master’s Degree in a science related discipline.

For Auto industries like TVS tractors (All types of gears, axel shafts), Widia India limited L and T, Ushamartin, Kirloskar, Sawraz Mazda, High tensile Bolts and nuts Industries (fasteners) Industrial chain Manufacturers, aluminum smelters, cement industries and railways.
Familiar with Pit type Gas carburizing furnace, Salt bath furnaces, tempering furnaces, Muffle furnaces, Rotary retort type furnaces, Bogie hearth furnace and furnace lining etc
Practical experience and familiar with the following Quality Assurance tests and
Procedures as per International standards.
I VISUAL INSPECTION
Visual inspection to detect the surface defects like cracks flaws casting defects, welding defects, corrosion, pitting etc in dies, valves, pumps, impeller and machined engineering parts and fabricated items as per International standards
II DIMENSIONAL INSPECTION
As per standard drawings required by the customer or as per International STD to check the sizes as cast, machined, welded and fabricated, by STD measuring instruments, templates, STD gauges fixtures and with marking gauges.
III PRESSURE TEST/ LEAK TEST
Pressure test by Air, Water or fluids and steam tests as per International tests
IV MECHNICAL TESTINGS
Tensile testing, Yield tests, elongation, compression test, hardness tests-Brinnel tests-Rockwell tests and Vickers testing and Micro Vickers hardness testing.
Impact Testing- Charpy- Izod impact tests for ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Hardness testing by equitip portable
V METALLURGICAL TESTINGS.
Microstructure examination as per BS, DIN, ASTM, ISO ands ASME International standards. To detect the % age of pearlite, ferrite, carbide, and structure in ferrous metals and Grain size-distribution-type and inclusions for castings, forgings fabricated, welded and heat treated parts. Case depth measurements, carbides and decarborised case etc. Ferrous metals like steel and alloy steels, Cast iron, Ductile iron Malleable Iron, ADI and aluminum alloys Interpretation of Microstructures, Failure and Investigations.
VI NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTINGS
To detect surface and sub surface defects by Ultrasonic testing methods (flaw detector) Dye penetration testing Radiography Interpretations for ferrous and nonferrous casting weldements etc
VII SHOT OR SAND BLASTING ANDPAINTING INSPECTION
Painting procedures, specification as per std Grid blasting as per DIN, ASTM, ASME and painting systems, painting application and setting up painting yard as per std requirements, humidity control, temp, dew point etc. Interpretation of painting system etc.
