NATURE OF THE JOB :
- Monitoring of drilling of exploratory and development wells for Oil India Ltd in Rajasthan.
- Experience in successful completion of 16 wells (6-exploratory wells + 10-development wells) as a Well Site Geologist.
- On-site monitoring of geological data acquisition including mud logging services, wire-line logging services, coring services, selection of casing points and drilling operation such as :
- Comparing data gathered during drilling with predictions made at exploration stage.
- Making decision about suspending or continuing drilling.
- Liasioning with Drilling Engineers, Petroleum Engineers, Wireline Logging Engineers and Mud-Loggers
- Lithological description of drill cuttings, side wall cores, conventional cores and construction of stratigraphic column.
- Mark formation tops using drill cuttings and offsetting wire-line well log correlations in both carbonate and clastic sequence.
- Quick look identification of reservoir properties (i.e. porosity, permeability, fractures) and hydrocarbon shows.
- Recommendations on coring intervals and control over coring activities and handling cores at surface.
- Identification of potential drilling problems related to different lithologies.
- Witnessing and quality control over wireline logging activities.
- Control over geological data and producing daily geological report.
- Prepare and submit final well reports (well data note).
- Carryout preliminary electrolog interpretation and correlation.
- Preparation of cross- sections, reservoir datasheets, subsurface maps and T-D Plot from sonic log.
- Preparation of Depth Data Drilling policy and other Geoscientific reports.
- Liasioning with Govt. authorities like DGH, State Petroleum Department and consortium partners.
- Worked in the Bikaner-Nagaur Basin and Jaisalmer Basins of Rajasthan.
- Worked in both Carbonate and Clastic reservoirs.
- Faced drilling problems like total mud loss, gas kick and complete drill string stuck.
