Project Title : Vehicle Tracking System using GPS and GSM (AT89C51).
Client Name : kings college of engineering, Punalkulam. Thanjavur.

Scope :
In this project AT89S51 microcontroller is used for interfacing to various hardware peripherals. The current design is an embedded application, which will continuously monitor a moving Vehicle and report the status of the Vehicle on demand. For doing so an AT89S51 microcontroller is interfaced serially to a GSM Modem and GPS Receiver. A GSM modem is used to send the position (Latitude and Longitude) of the vehicle from a remote place. The GPS modem will continuously give the data i.e. the latitude and longitude indicating the position of the vehicle.
The GPS modem gives many parameters as the output, but only the NMEA data coming out is read and displayed on to the LCD. The same data is sent to the mobile at the other end from where the position of the vehicle is demanded.

Project Title : A Modular Grid-Connected PV Generation System Based on DC Bus

Scope :
“Solar power points tracking using boost converters". As the name implied, it is a photovoltaic system that uses the photovoltaic array as a source of electrical power supply and since every photovoltaic (PV) array has an optimum operating point, called the maximum power point, which varies depending on cell temperature, the isolation level and array voltage.
A maximum power point tracker (MPPT) is needed to operate the PV array at its maximum power point. The objective of this paper is to build MPPT to charge 12-volts lead acid battery by using a 74 - watts PV panel. A technique for efficiency extracting the maximum output power from a solar panel under varying meteorological conditions is presented.
The methodology is based on connecting a pulse width modulated ac/dc BOOST converter, which is controlled by a micro controller based unit. The main difference between the method used in the proposed MPPT systems and other technique used in the past is that PV array output power is used to directly control the ac/dc converter thus reducing the complexity of the system. The resulting system has high efficiency, low cost and can be easily modified. This approach ensured maximum power transfer under all conditions by using micro controller for calculation. The tracking capability of the proposed technique has been verified experimentally with a 74 W solar panel at different isolation levels

Title : Control and Monitoring of air pollution caused by automobile exhaust gases by using zigbee

Description : Recently pollution is major talk of the world and many control measure are being taken by our pollution control department to control the pollution for the green world. Automobile exhaust gases play a vital role in the cause of air pollution. So it is also necessary to control air pollution from the vehicles

In our project, gas sensor array are placed in automobile and in specific areas in where pollution has to be controlled. The information from these sensor arrays are transmitted to a remote location by using zigbee transmitter. Quantitative and qualitative analysis has been conducted and if toxic gases exceed the certain level, relay is switched on which automatically switch on the air purifier placed in the specific area. Thus, the pollution has been controlled.

Role :
- Here we are design three nodes namely Server node, Area node and Vehicle node.
- My part is to design the Area node to control the pollution caused by Automobiles in a specific area.
- I am using Gas sensor to sense the exhaust gases in that area, gases like CO,Methane,NH2 this level are already calibrated in PIC microcontroller with specific range and Temperature sensor is used to sense the temperature range of that area, Level of the temperature is 45 Degree Celsius this range is also programmed in microcontroller.
- Then I send both the sensors information to the PIC microcontroller .If the pollution exist it will be indicated by using LCD and alarm to find out the pollution range.
- Existence of pollution makes the relay to switch ON by a microcontroller and this electromagnetic switch makes an air pollution to go to ON stage automatically which purifies the air and control the pollution.
- Finally I transmitted information about the area node to server node by transmitter zigbee
