This paper discusses the CoMFA (Comparative Molecular Field Analysis) analysis on a
data set of THQ (Tetrahydroquinolines) based compounds known to inhibit Plasmodium
Falciparum protein Farnesyl Transferase. The co-crystal structure of the lead molecule
BMS-214662 bound to Rat PFT was used as a template for the investigation. The
developed CoMFA model showed good co-relation between the observed and predicted
anti-malarial activities of the compound and by incorporating the features obtained from the
contour maps of CoMFA model, a few promising THQ analogues were proposed
