Title : Design and development of prototype tufting head for composite laminates.
Organization : National Aerospace Laboratories, Bangalore.
Description : Tufting is a technology by which a continuous fibre is inserted through fabric fabric preform in Z-direction to achieve better shear strength and delamination resistance. To get this tufting on preform tufting tool need to be designed which has a tufting needle and presser foot performing the necessary operation. For modeling the mechanism and head CATIA V5 software is used. The designed tufting head was fabricated and installed on the place of stitching head of CNC stitching machine. Tufting trials on the preform were done successfully.
Duration : 1 year.
B.E. (Mechanical Engineering) :
Title : Modeling, Designing and Fabrication of Special Purpose Machine for Automated TIG
welding Process.
Organization : Prakash Home Industries, Belgaum.
Description : Mechanism to be designed to give path to the welding torches to weld joining location of two halves of an elbow part using TIG welding process. Various mechanisms designed were modeled in CATIA V5. The final design has a roller on which the two torches are kept using supporting table for it.
Duration : 6 months.
