- TOPIC :
“Effectiveness of MetaCognitive Training (MCT) on Schizophrenic Patients”.
- DESCRIPTION :
The present study aimed at assessing the Effectiveness of MetaCognitive training in reducing Schizophrenic symptoms focusing hallucinations and delusions. A simple size of three inpatients (rehabilitative centre) of Shimoga city was taken for the study. Patients were assessed prior to intervention with the Positive and Negative Symptoms Scale (PANSS), and the Psychosis Rating Scales (PSYRATS). Meta Cognitive training was administered. Each session comprised of an activity, this way a cycle of eight sessions for four weeks was planned. After the last session post therapy assessment was done with the Positive and Negative Symptoms Scale (PANSS), and the Psychosis Rating Scales (PSYRATS).
Results of the study indicated that MetaCognitive Training has significant effects in the area of Positive symptoms but least differences were observed in other areas like negative symptoms and general psychopathology of the Schizophrenics patients.

- Dissertation- Presented a dissertation report on ‘Effect of Stress and Addiction on Subjective Wellbeing’. It was a comparative study to examine the effect of stress and addiction on subjective wellbeing on a sample of 60 male adults, 30 addicts and 30 non addicts. The objective of my research was to analyze the independent effect of stress and addiction on subjective wellbeing on the two samples as well as to see the combined effect of stress and addiction on subjective wellbeing on them. In the present study a profound effect of stress on subjective wellbeing has been found regardless of addiction or non addiction. SPSS was used for the analysis of the data collected from the sample.
