    L&T selection process :
    At present, we are visiting around 80 odd campuses with which we share a fantastic rapport for many years. Recently, we have started a 'pool campus process' where we invite all AICTE approved colleges in major locations across the country. This has enlarged the recruitment base for the company, increasing opportunities for bright engineers to make an entry into L&T.

    The present selection process consists of :
    Written tests that measure intelligence and engineering aptitude.
    Technical interview.

    Training for campus recruits :
    The objective of this 'finishing school' is to successfully on-board the campus recruits in L&T so that they can have an overview of the breadth of work. It also helps him/her in getting acclimatized to the work ethos and start delivering from day one.

    The 35-day programme consists of an orientation about L&T, its businesses, and projects undertaken. The trainees have to work on technical projects, individual assignments, product simulations, and have to undergo various technical as well non-technical exercises on-line. This program is a good mix of technical & non-technical activities with lot of fun-filled activities such as In-basket exercises, Games, Activities, Contests and Cultural Programs.

    Project Concepts :
    1. Magneto Ignition In cars.
    In this system the accessories which works on battery can use current produced from magnets and the current can also be supplied to spark plug to start the engine when the battery is totally discharged. We can also place auxiliary battery which can be used when main battery is fully discharged. And we can also charge our UPS batteries.
    2. Mileage Indicator.
    This technology has already been implemented but it does not give exact mileage on all road conditions, so we are trying to get exact mileage at different speeds and different road conditions by applying sensors near bumpers, accelerator. Fuel tank etc.

    Project Handled :
    LATERAL DRIVE MECHANISM FOR PARALLEL PARKING IN AUTOMOBILE
    In the modern world, where parking space has become a very big problem and in the era of miniaturization, since everybody wants to have a car and the space required to park is getting shorter. Parallel parking is a method of parking a vehicle in line with other parked cars.
    In this we are providing four wheel base with the drive and steering mechanism. The drive is being powered by the DC motor through the gear mechanism to the rear axle. The vehicle is having the steering mechanism also. Another three wheel base is provided below this chassis in which all three wheels are with folding mechanism controlled by the hand lever. One wheel of this is powered, power transfer is through bevel and spur gears.
    The center portion of this base is with drive bevel gear on which another driven bevel gear is mounted which drives another bevel gear which drives the spur gears to drive the wheel for sliding.

    Worked as a Customer Care Executive in First Source Ltd, Hubli for 5 months.
    In my job I used to solve customer queries and tell them about different recharges and low cal rates available for their number.

    The importance of power quality (PQ) has risen very considerably over the last two decades due to increase in the number of equipment which is sensitive to adverse PQ environments, the disturbances introduced by nonlinear loads, and the proliferation of renewable energy sources,& others.
