Description of the project :
The project involves change management during aircraft wing component manufacture. Engineering change requests raised by A-UK are called concessions and every concession involves repair solutions feasible and acceptable from design, stress, airworthiness and quality point of view.
Role : Design Engineer
Responsibility :
. To assess non-conformances encountered during production operations at Airbus UK from a design and stress perspective and to provide solutions accordingly while keeping in mind Assembly constraints, Manufacturability and Reparability.
Activities Involved : Analysis of the non-conformance as described by the production department and exploration of possible repair options.
Generation of a drawing pack containing drawings of all the affected components with associated calculations.
Study of wing drawings and component drawings.
Generation of a design solution recommending a suitable repair procedure.
Generation of support sketches and geometries in AutoCAD and Catia in order to substantiate generated design solution.
Apart from these activities, mentoring new members in the team was part of my responsibilities.

The Scope of work in this project includes, design on main components of Gear Box viz. main shaft, idler shaft, lay shaft, Gear wheels and gear case housing were modeled from 2-D drawings, Assembly build, clearance and interference checks were also done.
Role : Design Engineer
Responsibility : Detailed study of 2-D drawings and 3-D modeling in CATIA V5.
Activities Involved : Conversion of legacy drawings, either in AutoCAD or on paper into CATIA based drawings and 3D models.
The challenges that were faced, was the understanding of hand drawn representations, the inconsistent use of dimensioning, symbols and replication of the same on to the 3D models. The different modes that were used in Part Modeling, Assembly, drafting and Sheet metal modules.

Role : QC/ Design Engineer
Responsibility : Detailed study of 2-D drawings and 3-D modeling in CATIA V5.
Activities Involved : Part Modeling, Assembly and drafting With GD&T was done to Develop the Product by using CMM-Prototype Method. The activities included sheet metal and machined component design using both solid and surface function.
Designing the components and explaining it to the manufacturing unit, if required.
Redesigning the model to fulfill GD & T requirements for Manufacturing purpose.
CMM-Prototype Method had also been used to design a model as per prototype provided by customer.
