Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the following posts in the prescribed format in duplicate.
Professor : 07
Associate Professor : 05
Assistant Professor : 16

Pay Band + Academic Grade Pay : Rs.15600-39100+AGP Rs.6000

UGC scale of pay is applicable. For eligibility qualifications and other norms, please refer to the “Instructions to the Candidates” available with the application forms which can be had on payment of Rs.520/- inclusive of Rs.20/- for postage. For SC/ST, Rs.320/- inclusive of Rs.20/- for postage and attested copy of the community certificate should be enclosed. Payment is to be made by means of Demand Draft drawn on any nationalized bank in favour of “The Registrar, Alagappa University” payable at Karaikudi.

Interview for candidates from abroad will be through video-conferencing on specific request from the candidate. The University reserves the right to fill up the vacancies notified.

Important Instructions

1. Candidates should send their filled-in applications in duplicate.
2. Separate applications are to be submitted for each post.
3. Candidates applying for the post of Associate Professor should send their applications along with 4 copies of bio-data and 4 copies of reprints of 3 major publications. Otherwise the application will not be entertained.
4. Candidates applying for the post of Professor should send their applications along with 4 copies of bio-data and 4 copies of reprints of 5 major publications. Otherwise the application will not be entertained.
5. Candidates already in service should send their applications through proper channel.
6. Candidates should enclose the attested xerox copies of the certificates for the proof of their age, educational qualifications, experience etc.
7. A relaxation of 5% will be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks, at the Master’s level for the SC/ST, Physically and visually handicapped candidates.
8. A relaxation of 5% will be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks, to the Ph.D. degree holders who have passed their Master’s degree prior to 19th September 1991.
9. Minimum eligibility does not vest any right on the candidate to be called for interview.
10. The candidates will be short-listed, based on higher qualifications/ accomplishments of the available applicants. Only such short-listed candidates will be called for interview.
11. Interview for the candidates from Abroad will be done through video-conferencing, on specific request from the candidate in writing along with a Demand Draft for $250 towards processing fee.
12. The University reserves the right to fill-up or not to fill-up the posts notified.
13. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
14. Cost of Application Form For SC/ST For Others

By Post Rs.320/- Rs.520/-
15. Candidates can also download the application form and instructions to the candidates from http:\\alagappauniversity.ac.in. Such downloaded filled-in Application Form should accompany the prescribed Application Fee of Rs.500/- (for general)/Rs.300/- (for SC/ST candidates) by means of Demand Draft.
16. The fee once paid will not be refundable under any circumstances.
15. The filled-in applications which are not in the prescribed format will be rejected and no intimation in this regard will be sent to the candidates.
17. Late applications will not be taken into consideration and the University will not be responsible for the delay in transit.
18. Last date for receipt of filled-in applications 15.12.2009.
