Job Description
Emerson is seeking an skilled Technical Architect with strong technical experience in Microsoft technologies, covering the following:
- MS Windows 2003 server SP 2 (cluster and enterprise)
- MS SQL 2005 SP 2 server (clustered and enterprise)
- MS SharePoint server 2007 technical adminstration

Task will include creating the technical standards, product roadmaps, configurations and developing guidelines for installation, upgrades, software loads and new software release testing. Key responsibilities for the individual will include the design, management and support of the Emerson Technology lab with a focus on Microsoft technologies, coordination of testing new releases and standard applications.

Desired Profile
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
•Provide strong technical skills in Microsoft products & associated infrastructure, covering:

MS Windows 2003 R2 SP 2:
- Enterprise
- Cluster
- 32 bit and 64 bit
- Active Directory and DNS admin & configuration

MS SQL server 2005 database:
Enterprise and cluster
Analytical services
Management console
Migration planning & Roadmaps to:
Windows 2008
MS SQL server 2008
Windows Sharepoint server 2.0 to 3.0 and MOSS 2007
Knowledge of unified communications technologies, although training will be provided in these technologies:
Nortel VOIP
Nortel Unified Communication server
MS Exchange 2007
MS Live Communications server

•Some knowledge of Oracle ERP (eBusiness suite 11.5.10) and UGS Team center Community 2005/7
•Ability to multiple technical projects and initiatives
•Conduct technical reviews and recommendations to the Chief Architect
•Plan, lead and actively participate in all aspects of technical trouble shooting and project support activities
•Identify critical issues and escalate appropriately
•Create, Design and manage Emerson Microsoft technical standards
•Identify leverage opportunities based on experience gained from related projects
•Bug fix investigation and issue resolution, on key strategic initiatives for Emerson IT
•Work with Emerson IT, architecture and Divisions to understand business requirements, translate these into technical specifications and communicate solutions / results

PROFESSION SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
•Communication skills: strong presentation/ communication / facilitation skills (oral and written).
•Able to work in a team environment.
•Able to present solutions described above via whiteboard and PowerPoint.
•Systems implementation skills: requirements/process analysis, conceptual and detailed design, configuration, testing, training, change management, support

EDUCATION
•BS (or MSc) - Computer Science or Software Engineering / Development
•Microsoft certification – Windows 2003 server, MS SQL server
•Desired: Windows Sharepoint server (admin)

EXPERIENCE
•Minimum 5+ years of experience working with the Microsoft products defined above.
