GOVT. OF INDIA RECRUITMENT FOR THE POST OF CONSTABLE (GENERAL DUTY)
Applications are invited from male Indian citizens, resident of the following States for filling up of vacancies for the year 2009 on temporary basis likely to be permanent, shown against each State for the post of Constable (General Duty) Group ‘C’ in the Indo Tibetan Border Police Force.
The posthas all India liability and selected candidates can be posted anywhere in India and even abroad. On appointment, the candidate shall be governed by the ITBPF Act and Rules.

1. PAY SCALE
Pay Scale - Rs. 5200 – 20200 + Grade Pay Rs. 2,000/- per month.

2. No of Vacancies : 2450

3. ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS:
(i) AGE: – Between 18 to 23 Years (Cut off date for age will be 01 August 2009). Upper age limit is relaxable for SC/ST by 5 years and for OBC by 3 years.

(ii) EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION: – Matriculation or 10th Class pass from a recognized Board/ University/National Open School (National Institute of Open School).

(iii) PHYSICAL STANDARD:

(iv) Medical Standards:-
(a) Eye Sight: The minimum distant vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 of 2 eyes without correction i.e. without wearing of glasses.
(b) The candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and they should possess high colour vision. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.

4. HOW TO APPLY AND BY WHICH DATE:-
Eligible and interested candidates should send their Applications (duly filled in Hindi or English only) complete in all respects and Candidate’s Admit Card duly filled in, in the prescribed proforma as per Annexure ‘I’ and Annexure ‘II’ either by type written or neatly hand written on one side only on
full size plain paper with passport size photographs affixing on application duly attested by Gazetted Officer along with application fee, enclosures as in para-8 to the authority mentioned above in Col. 9 of para-4,

The last date of receipt of application is 27th October 2009 for all States except for Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh,Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Ladakh Division of Jammu and Kashmir State, Lahaul-Spiti District and Pangi Sub-Division of Chamba District of HP, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep for which last date is 03rd November 2009

5. APPLICATION FEE: Application Fee will be Rs. 50/- for candidates belonging to General and OBC category only and no fee will be charged from SC/ST and Ex-Servicemen.

6. ENCLOSURES REQUIRED TO BE ATTACHED WITH APPLICATION :-
As per the new scheme, only following are required to be attached with the application form.
(a) Two latest passport size photographs (one pasted on application form and another on admit card duly attested).
(b) IPO/Bank Draft of Rs.50/- (for General and OBC Candidates only).
(c) Two self addressed envelopes of 4”X9” size with Rs. 5/- postage stamps affixed on each envelope.
(d) Envelope containing Application must be superscribed in bold letters “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF CONSTABLE (GD) IN ITBP”
