Description : In voice transmission, bandwidth is very important, as digitized voice packet occupies lot of space. Hence, in order to effectively utilize the bandwidth, the “SILENCE SUPPRESSION” technique is used in this project.Silence suppression, a technique, which detects whenever there is a gap in the speech and suppresses the transfer of things like pauses, breaths, and other periods of silence. This can amount to 50-60 percent of the time of a call, resulting in considerable bandwidth conservation.And “DATAHIDING” deals important network security concepts. A text file containing the secret information is created. An Silence Suppressed audio file of WAVE FORMAT is the chosen Medium to conceal and transmit the secret information. This project aims to design powerful and robust software which would effectively implement the silence suppression and Data Hiding.
