I have 30+ years of experience on hand for operation of Steam and Power Generation plant of Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertiliser Co. Ltd.(GNFC) located at Narmadanagar;Bharuch; Gujarat State Of India. GNFC is one of the largest single stream Ammonia and Urea plant.We are also major producer of Methanol,Formic Acid,Acetic acid WNA,CNA and Nitrogenous fertiliser like Ammonium Nitro Phosphate and Calcium Ammonium Nitrate.


Brief details of experience:
At present, I am working with GNFC as a Chief Manager in Steam & power generation Plant .

Steam and Power generation Plant consist of:

(i) Steam Generation units
Steam Generation plant consists of 3 high pressure Pulverised coal fired (Indian & Imported Coal) Boilers supplied by BHEL with supplimentary firing of oil & gas. One Boiler of oil & gas fired supplied by Thermax. Each Boiler having a rating of 180 MT/Hr, 96 kg /cm2 (g) pressure and Final Steam Temperature of 510 c, along with Boiler auxiliaries, oilstorage & handling system, Ash handling & disposal system, Natural gas recieviing and ditribution station to entire complex, DCS control & monitoring system

(ii) Power Generation units, Cooling Towers & Centralised A/c system;
Captive Power Generation Plant comprises of Two Nos of Steam Turbo Generator sets of 25 MW each supplied by BHEL..The Steam Turbines are condensing with uncontrolled extrections for Boiler Feed Water heaters and dearators along with Turbine auxiliaries of condensers,Boiler feed water pumps, Cooling Tower system ,lub oil pumps, coolers, and ejectors, DCS control & monitoring system

- Cogeneration power plant comprises with one unit of 6.0 MW Gas Turbine supplied by Siemens
- Gas Turbine Frame-6 of 33 MW with HRSG of 60 MT/Hr supplied br BHEL is under onstruction stage.

(iii)Coal Handling section.
Coal handling plant having Unloading,handling & crushing facilities of 300 TPH capcity along with coal yard storage capacity of 1.5 Lacs MT of coal. The indiginious and imported coal of 2000 MT per day is handled for boilers with help of automobile equipements and belt conveying systems

I am discharging duties as Chief Manager (Operation) and reporting to AGM / GM (Operation),comprises of daily evaluation of plant operation based on cost economics and implementation of remedial actions. Uninterrupted, reliable & safe operation of plant along with following activities with direct control and guidance to Operators,Shift Engineers, Managers , Sr.Managers of Steam &Power Generation plant .

Daily Co-ordination Meeting along with operation group for Routine and Shut down jobs pertaining to Mech.maintanance, Electrical and Instrumentation group.Central Lab for quality control like.Steam & feed water quality , raw material like coal /oil& Gas, flue gas/ ash and cooling water analyses.

- Complince of OHSAS-18001 & ISO-14001 related to plant.
- Trouble shooting &debottlenecking of plant limitations.
- Planning for the annual & planned shut down.Annual overhauling of Boilers(IBR),Turbines and its auxiliary and startup activities.
