    - Research Interest :
    To study and understand the mechanisms responsible for the psychological disorders at the molecular level due major health hazards and environmental changes, also to undertake genome wide association study for mutation and integrate the results with susceptibility and elucidate associations between particular alleles in one’s DNA and a predisposition to disease, using genetic data from unrelated individuals randomly sampled from a population.
    To evaluate the mutational potential of environmental elements leading to genotoxicity, cytotoxicity as well as organ toxicity and searching herbal as well as synthetic products for the ameliorative property against these mutagens.
    To understand the mechanism and role of yoga in curing various diseases.
    - Technical Skills :
    - Peripheral blood lymphocyte culture technique and its use in evaluating genotoxic potential of a drug or compound.
    - Maintaining (including cryopreservation, thawing as well as subculturing) the different types of cell lines as well as sterile or aseptic condition. Using the cell lines for studying the cytotoxic and genotoxic parameters.
    - Chromosomal based and molecular diagnosis of genetic disorders using high-end instruments like Gene Sequencer, Thermalcycler, etc.
    - DNA ligation, DNA RE digestion, Gel electrophoresis, PCR.
    - Restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) analysis, Restriction mapping, Random amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD) analysis, DNA Fingerprinting analysis.
    - Karyotyping (IKAROS), ISH, FISH and Image analysis system.
    - Northern, Southern, and Western blotting Techniques.
    - Techniques like plasmid isolation, genomic DNA isolation, transformation, transduction western blotting, ouchterlony, column chromatography, microbiological tests, antibiotic tests and histopathology.
    - Microscopy-conventional, inverted, fluorescence, TEM.
    - Histopathological blocks and slides preparation and staining.
    - Preparative techniques for chromatography and well versed with HPLC, Gel electrophoresis, PCR.
