* Project work done during 1-12-2006 to 27-12-2006 at BHEL- Hyderabad, titled ''Standardization of CNC program for Gas Turbine Spacer wheel''.

Our project is on “STANDARDIZATION OF CNC PROGRAM FOR GAS TURBINE SPACER WHEEL”. Spacer wheel is used for the purpose of cooling the turbine wheels by passing the cool steam through the nozzle vanes radially inwardly and through the seal between the spacer and the nozzle stage into a pair of chambers. Not only is that it also used for relieving the stresses in the turbine wheels by removing the heat from the turbine wheels which is reduced during its operation. In this we focus our nterest in the area of machining grooves and slots in the spacer wheel .we studied about present programming method in detail which was found to be tedious. So, to overcome this we have developed the CNC program.
