    RECRUITMENT OF CLERICAL STAFF IN STATE BANK OF INDIA
    State Bank of India , Corporate Centre, Mumbai invites on-line applications from Indian citizens for appointment in the Clerical Cadre posts in State Bank of India. Candidates are requested to apply online between 01.08.2009 and 15.09.2009 through Bank’s website www.statebankofindia.com or www.sbi.co.in.

    Before applying, candidates are advised to ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria.
    They should note that examination fee and/or postage amount deposited once will neither be refunded nor be adjusted against any other projects. Candidates are advised to fill their details online themselves correctly. Candidates should note that details, especially relating to reservations based on caste/PWD/XS once filled will be final and no change will be allowed thereafter.

    If found that the applicant do not have necessary certificate to substantiate their claim, their candidature would be cancelled. For applying on-line, the candidates should go to a CBS branch of SBI, pay the amount of fees and get cash Receipt with Branch Code Number and unique deposit journal number as per the format appearing at the end here. This number alongwith depositing Branch Code should be correctly entered while registering the application on-line. No other means / mode of application / print-out will be accepted.

    Selection Procedure :
    All eligible candidates should apply online before the last date for registering the
    applications.

    a) Final selection will be made on the basis of performance in the written test and interview
    taken together. Merely satisfying the eligibility norms does not entitle a candidate to be
    called for written test or interview.

    b) The written test will be of Objective type consisting of
    (i) General Awareness
    (ii) General English
    (iii) Quantitative Aptitude
    (iv) Reasoning Ability and
    (v) Marketing Aptitude/ Computer knowledge.

    The questions in these objective tests, except for the test of General English,
    will be printed in bilingual i.e., English & Hindi.
    There will be negative marks for the wrong answers in the Objective tests. 1/4th marks
    will be deducted for each wrong answer. Candidates will have to pass in each of the
    objective tests.

    The passing marks in each of the tests will be decided by the Bank on the basis of the performance of all the competing candidates taken together in each test to a minimum required level. Candidates are also required to score a minimum 40% (35% for SC/ST/PWD/XS) marks on aggregate to be considered for being called for interview. Bank reserves the right to vary this cut off.

    NOTE :
    i) Other detailed information regarding the written examination will be given in the
    ‘Acquaint Yourself’ booklet, which will be made available to the eligible candidates
    along with the call letter for the test.

    ii) Interviews : Depending upon the number of vacancies only a certain number of
    candidates from amongst those who qualify by ranking high enough in the merit will
    be called for interview and / or proficiency test in the ratio of maximum 3 candidates
    for each vacancy. Final selection will be made on the basis of candidate’s
    performance in the written test and interview taken together.

    Last Date of On-line Registration : 15th September 2009
    Total Number of vacancies : 11000

    Bank reserves the right to change the date of examination under unforeseen circumstances, if any.

    CALL LETTERS FOR WRITTEN EXAMINATION :
    All eligible candidates will be issued Call Letters at the correspondence address given by
    them in their on-line application, which will be sent by post. e-mail advices will also be sent if e-mail address is available.

    RECRUITMENT OF CLERICAL STAFF IN SBI
    (ADVERTISEMENT NO. CRPD/CR/2009-10/04)
    WRITTEN TEST SCHEDULED TO BE HELD ON 08th, 15th & 22nd NOVEMBER 2009

    As you are aware, on account of overwhelming response to our advertisement, we are arranging this examination in six sessions on three Sundays (2 Sessions on each Sunday) i.e. 08th, 15th & 22nd November 2009. For streamlining the entire process, we have prepared and issued the Call letters in six different colors for each day and each session.

    Candidates are being informed for the written examination in the following sequence.
    SMS
    Name of the candidate, Date & Time of Examination.
    E-mail
    Registration Number, Roll No, Venue, Date & Time of Examination.
    Call letter
    Registration Number, Roll No, Venue, Date & Time of Examination.& Instruction
    (By Post “Under Certificate of Posting”)

    Candidate has to submit the call letter along with the original Cash Deposit Receipt (Challan) or suitable letter from Bank’s branch where fee is deposited (in case original is lost), failing which he/she will not be allowed to write the examination.(MOST IMPORTANT)

    Candidates have also been informed through their registered e-mail ID, informing their final registration number and password i.e. the one that has been retained by us for final processing.

    Call letters have been dispatched to all the registered candidates by post under certificate of posting and also intimated by email & SMS. In all probabilities, they will be getting the call letters up to 02.11.2009.

    Candidate who has registered on-line but could not get the call letters up to 02.11.2009:
    Valid candidates who don’t receive call letter up to 02.11.2009 may download duplicate Call letters from the website ( website address will be provided in the last week of October 2009 ) wherefrom the candidate will have to enter his Registration ID with password or Date of Birth
