Job Description:
Position: Manager Internal Audit
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Direct Reports: Executive
Key Responsibilities:
Check whether the various departments comply with the Internal and External policies, regulations and procedures
Perform Internal Audits, prepare audit reports and identify Internal Control weaknesses, making recommendations and ensuring implementation of the same
Check whether the existing internal controls are adequate or not to suggest appropriate changes
Conduct Financial Due diligence
Set up the effective SLA adhιrence and monitoring process
Functions / Day to day activities:
Help in the development of audit plan
Carrying out the operations & business audits from start to end to complete the audit process.
Preparing Internal Audit & Statutory Audit Report & discuss with process owner and senior Management
Preparing summary report on Audit Observations for Senior Management / Audit Committee.
Review of Internal Control and process
Ensuring proper internal control and analyzing/ evaluating the existing process for cost saving/reduction
Ensuring compliance of recommendations / action plans by follow-up with Auditee and reporting unimplemented recommendations to seniors
Identify and prioritize risks in an Audit Program, review control design and deficiencies, develop audit steps. Identify and document control design and deficiencies, document audit steps
Report findings and make recommendations for the correction of noted deficiencies; review reports prepared by team members
Mentor team members and conduct training programs based on gap in required skills
Desired Candidate Profile:
Experience / Skills (Preferred):
Good understanding of travel industry
Good communication skills
Proficiency in using MS Office applications (Excel, Word and Power Point) - a must.
Qualifications Minimum:
CA with minimum four years post CA experience in Internal Audit of mid size organization.

Year 1976 at Head Office, Bangalore in the Executor, Trustee & Taxation Section, wherein I had the opportunity to learn the various aspects of Income Tax & Wealth Tax matters, along with execution of Wills.
From the year 1984, I worked in International Division, Mumbai wherein I was responsible for making payments for Inter-Bank transactions. I also worked in the Premises & General Section at International Division, wherein I was responsible for preparation and placing of various office notes/Board notes before the higher authorities of the Bank. Before these notes were prepared, the various rules and guidelines issued by the Bank had to be thoroughly read and understood and the matter had to be placed before the higher authorities.
From the year 1987, I worked in the Foreign Department of the Bank at Mumbai during which period; I had exposure to Inward remittance, Outward remittance, Exports, Imports and Foreign currency non-resident accounts. Trade finance aspects were clearly understood by me when I was exchange dealer in the same office.
From the year 1993 to 1997, I worked in A R Street, Mumbai branch, where I was in charge of the export department. I have successfully negotiated export Letters of Credit of large value on behalf of Banks customers. I was also advising the customers of the exchange rate movement and assisted them to book forward contracts at the appropriate time to safe guard their interest against any huge exchange fluctuation at a later date.
During my tenure at A R Street, Mumbai branch, I also worked in Advances Department, wherein I handled proposals from customers for their credit needs.
From the year 1997 to 1999, I worked in the Legal Department of the Bank at Patna Circle Office. I was the liaison officer of the bank to deal with the Government departments. I was also in charge for the fraud matters arising within the entire Patna Circle, especially from the staff angle and fixing responsibility.
During 1999, I was transferred back to Nariman Point, Mumbai branch where again I was incharge of the export department. I was expose to Bancs 2000 at the branch, which helped me to handle the export department very efficiently.
During the year 2000, I was promoted as Manager Scale II and transferred to Bettadapura, Karnataka branch which was a rural branch, predominantly agriculture oriented. As branch head, I conducted two loan recovery meals during a short period of one years stay at the branch, which were very successful and well appreciated by my superiors in the Bank.
The VRS scheme was announced by the Bank in 2001, which was opted by me and was relieved from the services of the Bank on 31st May 2001.
Subsequent to taking VRS, I was associated with M/s Hariharan & Co, Mysore, Chartered Accountants as concurrent auditor and conducted concurrent audit of Ing Vysya Bank, Jayalaximupuram, Mysore for three years from 2001 to 2004.
During May 2006, I joined M/s Best of Breed Software Solutions, Bangalore, wherein I was introduced to the basics of Finacle. I also attended the DBA training programme at Infosys, Bangalore for a period of 15 days. However, due to domestic reasons, I had to leave the services of BBSS and came back to Mysore, during September 2006.
At present, I am working as a Consultant for M/s Modus Systems Pvt Ltd., Bangalore and working in the UET team of Infosys Ltd., Mysore for document preparation since April 2007.
