Position Description:
NLC Nalco India Limited has "Procurement Representative I/II" position open in Konnagar, India. The Procurement Rep has to work with system data on actual purchases, identify value opportunities, develop tactical plans to capture value & savings. He/She will be responsible for raising enquiries,bids evaluation, making comparative statements & ultimately raising PO's as per purchase procedures. He/She has to convert the data base in valuable reports for review. maintains consistency with the company's requirements for quality, delivery and reliability of source for items purchased.
Main Responsibilities include:

Spend Management
Implementing commercial agreements & associated work process within area of responsibility.
Identifying and driving approval for alternate materials/processes & developing new sources.
Defining & implementing procurement strategy within assigned category & building LCCS.
Negotiates contracts and supply position with suppliers & manages supply relationships.
Responsible for supply of materials necessary for the efficient operation at plants,offices & labs.
Recommends, evaluates and implements efficiency and quality improvements.
Closely Monitoring the timeliness & follow up with the supplier for timely delivery of items.

Business Process Management:
Reduction in procurement lead time, negotiation for better terms to meet Nalco's requirements.
Manage people or processes critical to the efficient functioning of procure to pay process.
Responsible for efficient operation within area of accountability & developing prices that is consistent with Nalco requirements & maintain communication internally.
Supports data and process requirements of department to ensure Nalco gets best deal in terms of Price, quality, credit terms & services.


Desired Candidate Profile:

Requirements in a Candidate:
Minimum of 3 years of progressive procurement experience & basic knowledge on purchase
1.A combination of 5 years of procurement and a related field experience.
2.Experience with SAP, Oracle, or any other ERP/MRP systems desired, SAP preferred.
3.Should be a bachelors in technical or business field; an advanced degree is preferred.
