Job Description:
The Yahoo! User Experience team (UE) in Bangalore is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Content Strategist with a strong creative background and aptitude. The Content Strategist (CS) is responsible for developing the strategy and vision for all content across Yahoo! Products. They develop the written content as well as the guidelines for its use, and ensure a consistent and cohesive user experience tailored to a product's audience.

Content Strategists work as part of a multi-disciplinary UE team comprising visual designers, interaction designers, accessibility specialists, design managers, and user experience researchers. Content Strategists are expected to work collaboratively with their UE peers, product managers and business stakeholders to communicate pertinent knowledge about user-centered content throughout the corporate product development process.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Develop a content strategy plan, key themes and messages.
• Create development plans for web content; recommend content types and organization based on user needs and marketing goals.
• Conduct a detailed audit of existing and new content to identify content gaps.
• Develop useful, usable content including instructional text, error and confirmation messages, taglines, taxonomy and nomenclature.
• Write effective metadata and optimize content for search engines.
• Develop and maintain ‘Voice and Tone’ and writing guidelines by which all online content is governed.
• Possess an excellent understanding of the basics of user experience design, and the ability to translate information architecture documentation.
• Define content research requirements for effective user research and testing.

Expert level attention to detail, as well as strong organizational and communication skills needed to maintain brand integrity and dialogue with users
Ability to create well-written and accurate content.
Considerable experience presenting content strategy deliverables to business sponsors and key stakeholders.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team.
Understanding of web development cycles.
Understanding of interaction design and information architecture with regards to content strategy
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in English, or any related field.
5+ years of experience in online content strategy, writing and editing that spans one or more of these fields:
Content development in an interactive setting
Editing and publishing
Technical writing
Creative writing
Copywriting
