IN-VITRO COMPARITIVE STUDY OF POLYMERIC IN-SITU GEL FOR ORAL CANDIDIASIS
SUMMARY :
Candidiasis is an opportunistic infectious condition caused by saprophytic fungi of the genus Candida, usually limited to the skin and mucous membrane. The design and development of formulation and method for antifungal agents were given mainly through systemic administration treat Oral Candidiasis. Therefore an attempt has been made to formulate insitu gels containing antifungal agent. This system therefore may helpful to deliver the drug locally and therapeutic effectiveness against the effectiveness against the infection.
Research has been performed in the design of polymeric drug delivery systems, among them, are a new series of thermoplastic, biodegradeable, hydrogels based on star shaped poly(ether-ester) block copolymers can be used for drug delivery having improved compatibility. Advantages with this hydrogels are drug release profile, ease of administration and ease of fabricationthat they provide over the conventional formulation.
