Description : The popular IEEE 802.11 WLAN is known to achieve relatively small throughput performance compared to the underlying physical layer (PHY) transmission rate. This is due mainly to the large overheads composed of medium access control (MAC) header, PHY preamble/header, backoff time, acknowledgement (ACK) transmission, and some inter-frame spaces (IFSs).We present a frame aggregation scheme, which can improve the throughput performance of IEEE 802.11 WLAN. By aggregating small-size frames into a large frame, we can reduce these overheads relatively.

Defending From Botnet Attacks Using Hierarchal Peer To Peer Network.

Description : Botnet is a network which consists of many computers in it. It is constructed using a centralized architecture. Bot master communicates with the bot to form this botnet. In this botnet many malware attacks are performed by the attackers. If the Botmaster attacks the bot which is present in the botnet, to defend the botnet from the attacker a honeypot technique is used. Honeypot acts like a normal bot. It checks whether there is a sensor host in its peer list. If so, it deletes all the information present in sensor host. As the result of this, botmaster can not retrieve the information and perform any attack on botnet. By this the entire botnet is defended from the attackers.
