Bharatiya Yuva Shakti Trust (BYST) is a non-profit organisation that primarily assists disadvantaged Indian youth to develop business ideas into viable enterprises under the guidance of a mentor, the main idea being assisting job seekers become job creators. The programs include supporting young underprivileged entrepreneurs by supplementing financing of up to Rs.50,00000 with present average loan size of Rs.4,00,000 with training, monitoring, mentoring and networking. The young entrepreneurs are nurtured till they reach a level where are not only they self-sufficient, but also in turn make a valuable contribution to society through creating wealth and employment.

BYST has supported over 1800 entrepreneurs in 6 urban and rural regions around the country, creating employment for over 18000 people. Internationally BYST is a founding member of Youth Business International (YBI) and plays an important role in assisting similar trusts around Asia and Africa.

Land and Freedom Survey: I undertook the survey to create a database of agricultural trade unions and organisations. I was responsible for identifying small farmer and land-less workers' organisations, understanding their socio-political backgrounds and their problems. The survey covered nine Indian states of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Orissa, Madhya Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu. This assignment involved over 500 hours of extensive fieldwork.

Concurrent Evaluation of Indira Awaas Yojana (IAY): The objective of IAY was primarily to help construction of dwelling units by members of Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes, free bonded labourers and also non-SC/ST rural poor below the poverty line by providing them with grant-in-aid. The Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India had sponsored this project. I was responsible for the evaluation of the scheme in ten districts of Rajasthan. Two blocks from each district were selected and fifty beneficiaries from each block spread over at least five-gram sabhas were selected randomly and evaluated by me in association with the respective District Rural Development Agencies, Panchayat Samitis and Gram Sabhas. I filled a beneficiary schedule after interviewing the beneficiaries and doing a physical verification of their assets. In each case it was assessed whether the selection of the beneficiary was done as per the guidelines of the Ministry and whether the constructed house had facilities like separate living room, separate kitchen, and sanitary latrines. The assignment comprised of over 1500 hours of time spent on extensive fieldwork.

Concurrent Evaluation of Million Wells Scheme (MWS): The main objective of MWS was to provide open irrigation wells free of cost to poor, small & marginal farmers belonging mainly to SCs/STs and free bonded labourers. But, due to geological factors and other reasons projects catering to Group of Beneficiaries instead of individuals had also been undertaken in respect of irrigation and land development etc. The Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India had sponsored this project. Income Generation Programme: Developed an Income Generation Programme (IGP) with the slum women. This IGP started as a unit of hand painted cards, and has now grown into a full-fledged screen-printing unit, providing livelihood and empowerment to these women and their families. Another IGP of the department pertaining to production of spice was supervised and marketed by me.
