A stent is small mesh tube designed to be inserted into an artery or passageway to keep it open and prevent recurrence of narrowing. One of the major problem associated with arteries is Stenosis (i.e. decrease in diameter of arteries). The most common treatment is Angioplasty with stenting.
The Finite Element Method (FEM) software is used for stent deployment analysis. The objective of this project is to evaluate the effect of maximum stress on artery wall and find out tissue growth which causes Restenosis by using FEM software ANSYS 12.0
