Job Description:

Mission :
Under responsibility of project piping and layout lead and of head of piping material section.
The engineer material specialist has as a responsibility, within the framework of a contract, to ensure the good design of the material of the networks of pipings as well at the technical level as on the level of the cost.
Issue technical part of inquiries, bid analysis and order for piping components.
Interface with other Piping specialists, project specialists and designers.
Co-ordinate technical activities performed inside or outside the company.

Tasks :
A - Development Technology know how & Commercial support
B - Feasibility

C - Bidding phase / Commercial proposal development
1) Selection of critical material
2) Cost estimate

D - Project Execution
1) Is responsible for the quality, respect of budget and respect of project schedule for piping material tasks
2) Reviews the Client’s technical documentation and requirements
3) Is responsible for the design of all piping components
4) Issues project piping material specification and piping components data sheets
5) Performs wall thickness calculations of pipes
6) Issues technical specification for requisition of all piping components
7) Issues technical bid evaluation for piping components offers
8) Reviews and approves vendors documents
9) Maintains project technical files and update Company standards
10) Performs the inter-disciplines checking for the part of documents in accordance with the scope of piping material section
11) Checks documents issued by piping material engineers
12) Checks the material take off issued validate by lead
13) Is responsible for the establishment of the PMMS (Piping Material
Management System) data base
14) Assists inspection department
15) Prepares mechanical valve specification for body of motorized valves
16) Informs on a permanent basis the Project Piping and Layout leader of any foreseen technical or financial or delay risk.
17) Issues the part of the REX in accordance with the scope of piping material section after contract completion
18) Piping Material cost evaluation

E - Construction & start up
1) Provide technical support
2) Assist when necessary, engineering adjustment on site

F - Home office activities (master)
1) Validate cost estimate
2) Projects coordination: provide input to discipline leads ad material engineer to harmonize design and methodologies
3) Provide support to projects and procurements to solve "non standards" and standard problems
4) Define the modification of department work flow and dept technical standards
5) Participate to the modification of company work flow and technical standardisation
6) Collect project feed backs for continuous improvement implementation (Lesson Learned)
7) Participate to vendor and outsourcing qualification
8) Participate to project/company procurement strategy (Purchasing team)
9) Develop and scouting of tools for simplified design activities.
10) Planning, control and management of outsourcing engineering center.

Desired Candidate Profile:

10-15 years experience is required.
