Professional Experience
Working as Assistant Manager in Tea Estates India Ltd, erstwhile Hindustan Lever Ltd, Stanmore, Valparai (Woodbriar Group –one of the largest tea producers in South India) from 2004 to till date
Responsibilities
- Incharge of the department of Research and Development / FDD and reporting to the Vice President Plantations.
- Training of associates in made tea, water, plants, soil, chemical and agrochemical inputs analyses
- Monitoring tea quality analyses (PFA, quality, biochemical parameters) and heavy metals, mirobiological parameters.
- Generation of GAP, SOP’s, instructions, trainings procedures, instrument qualification etc
- Preparation of guidelines and recommendations in cultivation aspects for improvement
- Conducting field experiments and data interpretation for improvement of tea quality and productivity.
- Managing analytical laboratory and its day to day activities
- Liaison with Scientists in various aspects of tea, coffee and cardamom cultivation for its improvement
- Preparing manuring/ fertiliser recommendation, budget for the group based on soil status
- Analysis of black tea, fertilizers, tea leaves, water and soil samples using sophisticated techniques and wet analysis as per the Indian and international standard requirements
- Calibration of glass wares and maintenance of records in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025
- Preparation of SOPs and maintaining records in accordance with Unilever Food Safety Policy.
- Monitoring MIS data and its circulation
