Job Description:

1. Research, plan, design and administrate building projects, applying knowledge of design, construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials.
2. Consult with client to determine functional and spatial requirements of new structure or renovation, and prepare information regarding design, specifications, materials, color, equipment, estimated costs and construction time.
3. Plan layout of project and integrate engineering elements into unified design for client review and approval.
4. Prepare scaled drawing and contract documents for construction contractors.
5. Assist clients in preparing tender documents and awarding construction contracts.
6. Administer construction contracts and conduct periodic on-site observation of work during construction to monitor compliance with plan.
7. Use Computer-assisted Design software and equipment to prepare project designs and plans
8. Draw up blueprints and work with architecture software like CAD to complete the design phase.

1. Methods, materials, objectives, procedures and standard practices for design.
2. Plan review and field inspection methods and techniques related to architecture and design.
3. Public works design and construction procedures and standards
4. Bidding and contract procedures.
5. Accounting and budgeting procedures
6. State, local, city and other applicable standards, design, building, safety, traffic and environmental codes

12. Perform project management functions

13. Operate standard office equipment including personal computer using program applications appropriate to assigned duties

14. Communicate effectively and establish and maintain working relationships with contractors, vendors, the public and other employees

16. Sustainable and cost effective design
