Job Description:
Responsibilities & Key Result Areas

The Applications Technical Delivery Manager will work very closely with IT and product teams to provide solid architecture based on the requirements of the product. The Application Technical Delivery Manager will be involved with applications team to provide technical insight and program management guidance to deliver projects end to end. The Applications Technical Delivery Manager will also define development guidelines, mentor development engineers, review source code and development processes as well as identify and evaluate technical product architecture enhancement opportunities. This position requires hands-on leadership with an architecture team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1) End to end management of applications from requirements understanding, design, planning project deliveries, tracking to plan and production deployment

2) Develop technology roadmap for applications based on business roadmap along with art.com's architecture board. Author and review product architecture documentation

3) Work with business owners and product team members to analyze business needs and define requirements in order to maximize the product suite's value, Research advanced technology trends for innovative ways to develop new products

5) Prototype new advanced capabilities that may drive development teams

6) Provide architecture direction to development teams across multiple locations

7) Conduct code reviews to ensure high quality of code that fits within architectural standards

Competencies - Technical / Functional and Managerial

Technical / Functional :

- Advanced knowledge of .NET 2.0 Architecture, C#, ASP.NET 2.0, MS SQL Server 2000/2005, MS Analysis Services 2000/2005, RDBMS and/or multidimensional technologies
- Ideal candidate is naturally interested in researching and applying new, innovative technologies and driving successful, on-time product releases
- Proven ability to design and build application architectures and integrate third-party technologies that scale and support application development and growth
- Proven experience influencing development team, preferably in business intelligence, predictive analytics or performance management software
- Design pattern experience, specifically the Microsoft Patterns and Practices
- Service Oriented Architectures and distributed computing experiences
- Strong attention to structure and detail
- Strong interpersonal communication skills

Managerial :

Provide technical leadership to the team

Strong ability in driving towards project goals and be able to deliver projects end to end

Strong in collaborating effectively with globally distributed teams

Very strong communication skills with ability to interact and influence senior members in the team

Level of interaction - External & Internal

- VERY CLOSE INTERACTION WITH IT TEAMS AND BUSINESS STAKEHOLDERS

- HIGH LEVEL OF DAY TO DAY INTERACTION WITHIN TEAM TO DRIVE PROJECT DELIVERY AND PROVIDE TECHNICAL SOLUTIONS

Education / Experience / Skill sets

- Minimum of 7 years of experience as Application/Software Architect with proven record of managing end to end program deliveries from both technical and delivery perspective

- Bachelors of Science, Computer Science or equivalent required. Masters of Science is preferred.
