    Firm : South Indian Bank, Sai Baba Branch, Coimbatore. Duration: 2 Months

    As part of Organisation Study, I was fortunate to go through the working of South Indian Bank and got opportunity to interact with the staff of South Indian Bank as well as with its customers. Outside resources like the official website and news articles on Banking as well as on South Indian Bank helped me to conduct this study.
    The method of percentage was used to find Net NPA. Least Square method was used, from which we arrive at a trend analysis. The rationale behind selection of 4 year from 2006-09 was to understand the effect of global economic crises in the performance of Sai Baba Colony Branch, Coimbatore. The study focus on understanding the meaning and nature of NPA, different stages in which an account becomes NPA, major causes for an account becoming Non-Performing Assets. The study made an analysis on NPAs of SIB Sai Baba Colony Branch and compared it with NPA of SIB as a whole. It also focus on Global Economic crises in India, has it affected the NPA level of SIB Sai Baba colony, Branch Coimbatore.
