Job Description:
Summary
The Developer will be responsible for all the development work that pertains to telephony, voice interfaces required from a platform for use by our core voice driven applications. This person will work with other people in the voice-platform engineering team and interface closely the core application team. The candidate must have prior experience (5 years) in core development of software.

Essential Functions
Maintain the current Voice platform which contains a number of platform level services and a VoiceXML interpreter

Design and develop enhancements to this product. The enhancements will include integrating with multiple telephony hardware providers and voice recognition software
Work with multiple product teams to make sure the platform meets the requirements of the core services
Work with the Voice platform development group to port the current Voice platform from its current Windows base to Linux

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
An interest to design and develop very reliable software systems
Candidate must have at least 5 years experience in designing and developing software at the system level
Strong, hands on experience developing software using the C++ programming language on the Microsoft Windows Platform
Strong, hands on experience using XML parsers, XPath query engines and XSLT
Strong, hands on experience interfacing to JavaScript engines, like Mozilla’s SpiderMonkey
Strong, hands on experience using http-clients like cURL and Microsoft’s serverXmlHttp
A very good understanding for Telephony services, these include managing media services and switching services (specially using SS7-ISUP)

A good understanding of VoiceXML and voice grammars is required

Good oral and written communication skills are required

Candidate must be a strong team player.
The successful candidate will be highly organized and self-motivated with the ability to multi-task across a number of technology initiatives.
Desirable
Familiarity with CCXML will be a plus
Minimum Requirements
A Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Engineering/Science or a relevant field of Engineering
Prior experience of 5 years in design, development of complex system software
Location: Delhi or Bangalore
Travel: 4 weeks per year
