Job Description:
The incumbent will be responsible for performance monitoring and maintenance of Gas Based Engine Power Plant during the shift including start up, shutdown, trouble shooting and meticulous maintenance of operation record. The candidate should preferably have experience in O & M of 10-20 MW power plants or multiple sets of 4 MW power plants. He must be aware about O & M of Generating set including Pumps, PHE, Engine Motors, Compressor, ventilation system, HT Panels, MCC, PLC Controlled synchronising system and VAM etc. The candidate must be conversant with computer operating systems. The candidate having experience in large capacity engine plant will be preferred.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION :
Project Title : An Integrated Fly back Converter for DC UPS.
Description :
Use of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) has been the traditional way to protect computers against power failure, but due to multiple voltage conversion, the system conversion efficiency becomes very low. Also, the UPS is large and bulky due to the use of mains-frequency inverter. To overcome the pitfall of the conventional UPS an “Integrated Fly back Converter” is designed. It performs the combined functions of an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) and Switch Mode Power Supply (SMPS). This converter has a high voltage main power input and a low voltage backup battery input. DC output is obtained from the main input via a fly back converter during normal operation and from backup battery via another fly back converter when input power fails. High conversion efficiency is achieved as there is only a single DC-DC conversion in each mode. This design offers substantial improvement in efficiency, size and cost over the conventional cascade of UPS and SMPS, due to single voltage conversion, high frequency switching, and removal of design redundancy.
