It is used for FCS system integration testing, verification and validation of FCS hardware and software functions, overall mission evaluation and pilot in loop simulation from the point of view of overall system clearance and safety of flight assessment including failure modes.

    Responsibility : Test cases identification and designing based on Software Requirements Specifications (SRS), creating test plans, executing tests, analyzing results and generating Problem Reports, if any.
    Description: The Onboard Digital Flight Control Computer (DFCC) is an integral part of the Fly-By-Wire Control System of Light Combat aircraft (LCA). The functional testing of flight software in DFCC is the most critical and rigorous testing in the entire project life cycle of design and development of LCA. This testing is conducted at a unique and dedicated test facility called Iron Bird, which is developed for this specific purpose at Aircraft Research and Design Center of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). This is, basically a black box testing of the DFCC software, involves its functional test and evaluation. Various evaluation tests are carried out to verify the Control Law software of DFCC namely
    1. Sub System and System Integration Verification of various DFCC interfaces
    2. Verification of Failure Monitoring Systems
    3. Verification of Trimmer Path, Event Setting and Mode Transition for CLAW
    4. Characterizations of Failure Transients and its validation against Requirement Specification.
    5. Performance Verification of Air Data System
    6. End – to – End Open Loop Static and Dynamic Tests of CLAW.
    7. Pilot – in – the Loop Normal and Failure Mode Tests
    8. Fault Free Tests
    During all these tests, data is acquired in various data acquisition systems such as Flight Test Instrumentation FTI – RS422, Cross Channel Data Link (CCDL) and Crash Data Recorder (CDR). After thorough analysis if any ambiguity is faced, problem reports are generated and the problem is fixed through document/software updates. The same is again tested for verification and clearance.

    Project 2: Acceptance Test Procedure for Flight Dynamics Simulator (FDS)
    in Stand alone and Integrated Mode With Engineering Test Station (ETS)

    Project Duration : 3 months
    Description : The main objective of the Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP) of the subsystems of Integrated Flight Control System (IFCS) Evaluation facility is to validate all the subsystems, which in turn include verification of all the interfaces that are present in each subsystem. Testing is done in an end-to-end manner by injecting appropriate signals at the source and to verify the same at the destination in both stand-alone and in integrated mode. Once the ATP is done on the sub systems and is cleared by certifying authority (CEMILAC and CRI) then subsystems can be used for the evaluation Operational Flight Program (OFP)
    Responsibilities: Test case identification, testing and data analysis of Acceptance test at Integrated Flight Control System. The test document and test cases are prepared based on Fight Dynamics Simulator (FDS) and Engineering Test Station (ETS) Requirement Documents.

    Project 3: Performance Verification Testing of Air Data System (ADS) software.

    Description: As a part of the flight control system (FCS) development, significant modifications to Redundancy Management and Data Processing Algorithms are upgraded in Operational Flight Program (OFP). A series of performance verification tests is being carried out in order to verify the operation of the software, performance of ADS for normal and failure conditions and operation of Forward and Inverse ADS.
    Responsibilities: Working as Team member involving in testing and analysis of performance verification tests of Air Data System software at Iron Bird. Involving in test case and test description document preparation based on ADS Functional Requirement Document, Software Requirement Specification of DFCC and Global specification of FCS with Avionics.

    Project 4: Working in Air Data Computer (ADC’S)Testing/ Analysis coding.
