Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- Shall be responsible for knowledge acquisition from customer site
- ODC setup at the offshore
- Ownership of complete knowledge transfer to the non core team.
- Acts as a lead for others in the group; has ownership of specific features/products in the customer releases.
- Responsible for devising a test approach and creating test cases for specific features and/or products.
- Acts as lead tester for the SQA team for a given release cycle.
- Actively works with the rest of the test team to ensure all aspects of the feature are adequately exercised and free of the majority of bugs.
- Available as a technical resource for others in the test group.
- Works as lead on multiple concurrent releases when necessary.
- Proactive about ensuring the quality of the software.
- Has deeper understanding of the software features and works directly with the development engineers to debug issues and devise test scenarios.
- Reviews functional specs and provides input.
- Completes all duties with relatively small amount of supervision.
- Helps train new hires and/or contractors.
- Provides input to the test manager on test equipment needs
- Provides comments to Operations on manuals and other product documentation.

Desired Candidate Profile:
Mandatory Skills:
- Experience in Enterprise Networking testing experience
- Ability to lead other test engineers and interface with development engineers and managers successfully.
- Ability to own and lead complete testing projects from knowledge acquisition to complex lab setup and final execution
- Strong data-networking skills and experience in the area of Wired Broadband Networks ( IPv4 and IPv6)
- High level of proficiency with the following technologies and protocols is desired:
a)VoIP associated protocols (MGCP, SIP, RTP)
b)Ethernet protocols (802.1Q, p, ah…)
c) IP Video delivery (IGMP, PIM, multicast)
d) ADSL, ADSL2/2+, VDSL2
e) GR-303, TR-08
f) PPP
g) PWE3 (SAToP)
h) Telephony (POTs)
- Practical understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems.
- Experience with software test tools:
a) Traffic generators
b) Network analyzers
c) Analog call generators
- Basic knowledge of at least one scripting language for test automation is desired.
- Excellent oral and written skills with willingness to work in a high powered team environment
