PROJECTS UNDERTAKEN
- Animal Cloning:
Udder (differentiated tissue) from 6year old sheep was taken and placed it in special solution that controls cell cycle of cell division. At the same time an unfertilized egg was obtained from another adult sheep. Its nucleus was carefully removed leaving the intact cytoplasm in egg. The nucleus of udder cell was taken out and transferred into nucleus-free egg. This was facilitated by applying mild electric shock. The newly transplanted nucleus soon became functional according to the new cytoplasm in which it had been artificially transferred. This viable combination underwent cleavage like normal zygote. This so called embryo was then transplanted into the uterus of a third adult sheep (surrogate mother) for its further development.
Finally, a normal healthy little lamb, Dolly was born in Feb. 1996 which was genetically similar only to the clone mother from which nuclear DNA was taken out.
- Worked on a Project of Clinical Trial for Myocardial Infarction:
Clinical trials means the Medical research, carried out to check the safety and efficacy of Investigational products. Sometimes coronary artery gets blocked due to the deposition of Cholesterol inside the wall, so that there is insufficient supply of oxygen to heart muscles. Ultimately heart muscles get damaged and heart attack takes place. It occurs due to cigarette smoking, over weight, Cholesterol etc.
Clinical trials are carried out on aspirin drug. This study is carried out to evaluate the mechanism of aspirin in aspirin treated patients with coronary artery disease.
Also on Clopidogrel drug, Clinical trials were carried out to evaluate effect of different dosing regimens of clopidogrel before elective precutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) on platelet function.
From this study, we confirm that clinical trials on myocardial infarction are very important to judge the drug’s effect on human subject.

- Knowledge of Water Treatment Purification Plant Project:
Raw Water is carried out under four treatments:
1. Prechlorination: Water coming from main sources is Chlorinated (killing agent used is HOCl), so that all Organisms get killed.
2. Alum Dosing: In this, Prechlorinated water is taken under alum treatment house. Alum acts as Coagulum. It forms Flocs so that all mud particles bind to it. After homogenous mixing, water reaches in cylindrical tank having buffer ball, in vertical upward direction. So that heavy particles settle down.
3. Filteration: Water passes through mixture of sand and gravels from nozzle, so it gets purified.
This chlorinated water tasted for various parameters like turbidity, minimal mineral conc. Dissolve O2 etc. and then send to master tank.
