Job Description:
This mid-level electrical engineering position requires the successful candidate to perform activities of a limited scope, based on principles and techniques commonly employed in electrical engineering design. You will be introduced to project management techniques and to the CDM management system to broaden your understanding of multi discipline design concepts in preparation of advancement to the next level.

Desired Candidate Profile:
• 3-5 years of experience since B.E., (Electrical & Electronics)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, MS Excel and MS Power Point)
• May be required to either manage tasks on large projects or manage phases of small projects
• May be required to supervise or coordinate the work of CADD Operators, technicians and others assisting in specific assignments
• Experience in the design of water and wastewater treatment facilities or industrial facilities is preferred.
• Proficiency with SKM Power*Tools or other electrical system analysis software is preferred
• Candidate must have excellent writing and communication skills.
• Assist senior staff in the selection and specification of various electrical system components including motor control centers, switchgear, transformers, etc.
• Determine code require working clearances around electrical equipment.
• Assist senior staff in the development of the Engineer’s opinion of probable construction cost estimates
• Design & analysis for both LT and HT Electrical Power Distribution System. Familiarity in sizing, selection, equipment and earthing layouts & single line diagram.

Additional Job Details: Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
• Performing electrical calculations for electrical systems using electrical systems analysis software.
• Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code is desired.
• Performing design tasks of building related electrical systems including lighting, communications, fire alarm, security systems and power distribution systems.
• Developing of electrical plans and specifications for small projects with minimal supervision.
• Reviewing shop drawings and assist with general construction services.
• Performing short circuit, protective relay coordination and arc flash studies using power analysis software.
• Performing limited AutoCAD tasks for electrical design drawings.

Improving Transient Stability Using FACTS Devices
This project will summarize various robust control techniques for the enhancement of transient stability of a large power system. Flexible ac transmission systems (FACTS) controllers are being used to damp out the power system oscillations.
In simple FACTS can be defined as, "Alternating current transmission systems incorporating power electronic based and other static Controllers to enhance controllability and increase power transfer capability".
Computer simulation results under a severe disturbance condition (three phase fault) for different fault clearing times and different locations of FACTS devices were analyzed.
DOIT- Digital Optical Instrument Transformer
The measurement of voltages above 1 kV and currents above 100 A is made through lately developed new types of instrument transformers with digital outputs using optical technology. Although the actual sensing element may still be a classical transformer an A/D conversion takes place at some stage, and the secondary signal becomes available only as a digital signal.
The system is based on already established high-voltage standards (IEC – International Electro technical Commission Standards) combined with a separately verifiable Analog/Digital-converter and specialized software.
