AccessAbility is a social entrepreneurship that was formed in 2006. Disappointed by the charitable approach taken towards disability three individuals equipped with higher education in the subject set out to do things differently. (Click here to read about the founders)
AccessAbility, registered under the Indian Partnership Act, is a completely self funded entrepreneurship where no grants or donations are accepted. We believe that responsible service providers and employers will recognise the long term social, ethical and business mileage in valuing their disabled clients and employees, and should therefore be willing to invest in making provisions for them. AccessAbility provides professional services of being a one stop interface for the corporate sector to include people with disabilities as contributing clients and employees.
By facilitating the industry in mainstreaming people with disabilities in their functioning, we hope to be able to Include, Enable & Empower people with disabilities.
Vision – is to be recognized as the most credible resource in India on issues pertaining to mainstreaming of people with disabilities.
Mission – is to provide a platform for mainstreaming of people with disabilities by including them in all our environments, enabling them to be contributing members of society and empowering them with information that will give them an opportunity to be out and about.

Services Offered
1. Employment
Below is a list of facilitation services we offer to employers considering including persons with disabilities in their workforce:-
[LIST][*]Skills Matching for Identified Job ProfilesWe can assist by studying various available job roles, and identify profiles best suited to persons with different disabilities based on their functional abilities. A skill matching for the identified job profiles is then done by our team and an easy to use matrix is developed for the employer’s reference.[*]Locating Potential Candidates We, through networking all over India, have created a vast pool of talented persons with disabilities looking at meaningful employment opportunities. We can assist in locating potential candidates for the identified roles. The candidates can be sourced from different cities as specified by the employer. An online easy to use candidate search facility may also be offered in due course (based on the service availability).[*]Screening and AssessmentWe can assist in screening and assessment of the potential candidates and provide an individual assessment report along with a short-list of candidates for interview.[*]Selection AssistanceWe can also assist the employer, through the selection process by making the whole process from the interviews to induction as seamless as possible for both the management and the candidate. Like for instance, assisting in locating a Sign Language Interpreter that may be required when interviewing a person with Hearing Impairment, or we may assist the interviewer by introducing them to the use of right terminology for persons with disability, so that they do not feel inhibited while interviewing. We can also assist in creating accessible formats of selection test material.[*]Post Selection Induction SupportWe believe that a good induction process is crucial in making sure that the employee integrates well into the system, also his/her peers are able to recognise the strengths of the new employee. Besides ensuring that all staff is aware of the commitment of its management towards promoting diversity as a part of its work culture, one of the key aspect of induction that we can assist with is;
- Minor Workplace Adaptations
This may include studying features of the workplace which may require minor adjustments/adaptations to facilitate a comfortable and efficient work environment for persons with disability. A report summarising the modifications (if any) or assistive aids and appliances that may be required will be provided to the management along with other useful resources.[*]On Call Crisis Resolution SupportWe also offer our commitment to assist the employer in resolving any issues related to employment of persons with disability. This service is available on an on call basis and extends to issues related to HR Policies, Employee Retention, Accessibility at Workplace, etc.[*]Developing a Recruitment PolicyWe provide assistance to organisations in evolving a disability recruitment policy so that disability employment gets imbibed in the organisation’s processes, procedures and practices.[/LIST]
2. Strategising Company CSR
CSR is an essential component to any corporate wanting to add social value; it provides an opportunity to give back to the community. We assist in strategising an organisations CSR policy to incorporate disability at all levels.
3. Training - Disability Awareness and Sensitisation Programmes
We develop and impart customised and packaged training modules to assist individuals and organisations in areas like disability awareness, communication etiquette, assisting disabled employees (and clients), emergency evacuation etc.
These short 2 hours or 4 hours interactive modules specially benefit employers who are looking at recruiting persons with disability. There are various training modules that are available and we can customise the same based on specific needs of your organisation, some that are relevant to the context above are:
