Desired Candidate Profile:
Mechanical Engineering with Experience of 4- 6 years in handling vendors for supply and development of components. Should be able to identify better vendors, create a competitive environment and improve vendor performance,Coordinating with suppliers and interaction with global sourcing engineer of the Operating company in USA/Europe on day to day basis,Identification and selection of vendors, pre-qualification of vendor,supplier performance evaluation on regular basis for company’s facilities in India for Castings, Motors,Plastics,Support suppliers for delivery adherence and quality compliance,Conduct supplier visits as required to insure timely delivery of product and provide open status on company’s buyer,Train suppliers to understand and implement purchase order, Quality, drawing and specification requirements. Coordinate supplier questions relative to business product and process compliance issues on common parts/ commodities to avoid late identification of problems to all plants,Check for various options available for assistance from all from other alternative material resources and coordinate accordingly,Communicate issues on common parts / commodities to avoid late identification of problems to all customer Plants,Understand the technical and workmanship requirements of engineering and non engineering commodities and use the same in the supplier selection process,Broader understanding of the quality systems and procedures along with various industry specifications for the materials and process and use the same during periodic and initial assessments of the suppliers,Ensure that the supplier’s quality system is capable to a manufacture ordered parts for direct shipment without receiving inspection at buyer location through scientific tool like process capability studies. Broader knowledge of commercial transaction principles, practices and procedures to the completion of difficult negotiations with supplier’s delivery.

Description

The objective of our project is to study the aerospace bearings in depth and evolve a design methodology for selecting the rolling contact bearings in helicopter transmission gearboxes. The successful performance of rolling contact bearing depends on all the relevant aspects of the application being properly considered at the design stage. There is a need to evolve a procedure for selection of bearings to ensure that all important design factors are taken into consideration while selecting the bearing.
The bearing selection procedure is further elaborated by demonstrating the selection of bearing in 3-stage reduction gear box i.e. main gear box (MGB) of the upcoming project which is under preliminary design stage.
