The Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO), wholly owned by the Government of Bahrain, is engaged in the oil industry including exploration and prospecting for oil, drilling, production, refining, distribution of petroleum products and natural gas, sales and exports of crude oil and refined products.

The company owns and operates a 250,000 barrels-a-day refinery, storage facilities for more than 14 million barrels, a marketing terminal and a marine terminal for its petroleum products.

Designation Control Operator - Lube Base Oil plant

Job Description The incumbent must have excellent knowledge of Lube base oil plant and with good exposure to operational aspects of refinery process units and offsite systems

Should have complete understanding of main refinery processes and utilities, and good Hydro-treating and hydro-cracking experience

Will be required to control the operation of lube base oil plants in accordance with established procedures and instructions and independently handles all unit emergencies.

Will be involved throughout the different stages of the project in preparing of operating manuals, procedures, training of operations staff, pre-commissioning and commissioning of the plant.

Must be well versed with the quality (ISO) and Process Safety Management (PSM) concepts

Process Design:
The Lube Base Oil process is based on hydro-dewaxing and hydro-finishing technologies. Feed to the new Lube base oil unit will be unconverted oil from Hydro-cracker and the new LBO unit will consist of Feed Preparing Section (FPS) to produce Group II+ and Group III Lube Base Oil products. Reactor section (RS) and followed by the Product Distillation Section (PDS) with Waxy Product Tanks provided between FPS and RS.

The Detailed Engineering Design of the EPC phase will soon commence, and the unit is expected to be commissioned in 2011.

Desired Profile Diploma preferably in Chemical, Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum of 5 years experience in plant operation including training, of which at least 3 years should be in a Control Operator position or equivalent.
