INVITES APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION TO
IIITMK- CUSAT PH.D PROGRAMME 2014-2015

Indian Institute of Information Technology & Management – Kerala (IIITM-K) has been approved as a research centre under Faculty of technology by Cochin University of Science and Technology Vide Notification No. AcB1/003710/10/IIITMK dated 12.11.2013. The Institute has been conducting Post Graduate courses and undertaking Research projects since 2000 in several advanced areas of computer science, electronics and IT. The institute provides a vibrant research environment supported by highly qualified faculty members, excellent infrastructure and facilities.

IIITM-K invites applications for admission to the Ph.D Programme starting in January 2015 in computer science, electronics and IT related topics in the areas of Intelligent Signals for Medical Imaging, Compressed Sensing, Computer simulation and modeling, Image Processing /Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning , Data Mining /Cryptography, Biometrics, Digital Watermarking, Cyber Forensics/ Visual Surveillance , High Performance Computing, Grid and Cloud Computing

Eligibility :
A candidate must have a Master’s degree from a recognized University with a minimum of 55% marks in qualifying examination or a minimum of CGPA of 6.0 in the 10 point scale (or an equivalent grade in similar scales) and also satisfy any of the conditions mentioned below. A candidate belonging to SC/ST community shall be eligible for concession up to 10% marks in the minimum eligible marks for admission.
In addition, the candidate should meet any one of the following;
i) Secured a National/Research fellowships from Government of Kerala or Government of India/ by any agencies or by industries recognized by the University with valid score and committed financial assistance at the time of seeking admission.
ii) Qualified UGC-NET Lectureship examination or GATE / ICAR / KSCSTE / CSIR / NBHM / ICSSR. The scores should be valid at the time of admission to the Ph.D programme.
iii) Secured an M. Phil Degree from a recognized institution with specialization related to the area of research to be undertaken.
iv) Foreign Students sponsored under a scholarship scheme by the Government of India for undergoing Ph.D programme in India

Selection: Rank lists will be prepared on the basis of research proposal and performance in interview.

Admission fees : General-Rs 25,000/-;SC/ST-Rs 10,000/- ; Last date of issue : At the time of admission
Annual fees : General-Rs 10000/-;SC/ST- Rs 5000/- ; Last date of issue : Every subsequent year

How to Apply :
i) The application form may be obtained by approaching the affiliated department at the Faculty of Technology, CUSAT along with a demand draft of Rs.1000 (for SC/ST/PD candidates Rs.500) drawn in favor of 'The Registrar, CUSAT'. The affiliated department can be either department of electronics, computer science, or Information Technology as relevant to the subject area of research included in the list of areas specified. Duly filled application forms complete with copies of mark sheets/certificates and other testimonials should be received at the
