Indian School of Mines, established in 1926 offers 4 yr. B.Tech., 3 yr. M.Sc. Tech., 2 yr. M.Sc., 5yr. Integrated M.Sc. (Tech.)/M.Sc., 5 yr. Dual Degree (B.Tech. & M. Tech./MBA), 2 yr. M.B.A., 2 yr. M.Tech., 1 yr. M. Phil, full time and part time Ph. D. courses/programmes in Engineering and Basic/ Earth/Social/Applied Sciences, Humanities and Management disciplines.

ISM invites applications from Indian nationals for the following posts

1.Name of the post : Sr. Technical Assistant
No. of post : 9 ( UR-4, OBC-2, SC-2, ST-1)
(1) Min Educational Qualification: Diploma in Engineering of three years duration in appropriate field/B. Sc in appropriate field with experience in handling of scientific instruments in workshop/laboratory/industry and computer applications as per requirement.
(2) Experience: 8 years relevant experience with GP of Rs. 4,200/- or equivalent [For internal candidates – 8 years experience in the post of Technical Assistant]
(3) Pay-scale with GP PB:2: Rs. 9,300-34,800 + GP Rs. 4,600
(4) Desirable: Knowledge of handling sophisticated laboratory instruments /execution of project work/field work relevant to different science and engineering departments.

2.Name of the post : Sr. Scientific Assistant
No. of post : 8 (UR-4; OBC-1, SC-2, ST-1 )
(1) Min Educational Qualification: Diploma in Engineering of three years duration in appropriate field/B. Sc in appropriate field with experience in handling of scientific instruments in workshop/laboratory/industry and computer applications as per requirement.
(2) Experience: 8 years relevant experience with GP of Rs. 4,200/- or equivalent
[For internal candidates – 8 years experience in the post of Scientific Assistant]
(3) Pay-scale with GP PB:2: Rs. 9,300-34,800 + GP Rs. 4,600
(4) Desirable: Knowledge of handling sophisticated laboratory instruments/ execution of project work/field work relevant to different science and engineering departments

3.Name of the post : Technical Assistant

(1) Min Educational Qualification: Diploma in Engineering of three years duration in appropriate field/B. Sc in appropriate field with experience in handling of scientific instruments in workshop/laboratory/industry and computer applications as per requirement.
(2) Experience: 8 years relevant experience with GP of Rs. 2,800/- or equivalent.
(3) Pay-scale with GP PB:2: Rs. 9,300-34,800 + GP Rs. 4,200
(4) Desirable: Knowledge of handling sophisticated laboratory instruments/execution of project work/field work relevant to different science and engineering departments.

4.Name of the post : Scientific Assistant

(1) Min Educational Qualification: Diploma in Engineering of three years duration in appropriate field/B. Sc in appropriate field with experience in handling of scientific instruments in workshop/laboratory/industry and computer applications as per requirement.
(2) Experience: 8 years relevant experience with GP of Rs. 2,800/-or equivalent
(3) Pay-scale with GP PB:2: Rs. 9,300-34,800 + GP Rs. 4,200
(4) Desirable: Knowledge of handling sophisticated laboratory instruments/execution of project work/field work relevant to different science and engineering departments

by sending a crossed demand draft for Rs. 100/- drawn in favor of “Registrar, Indian School of Mines, Dhanba d – 826 004 with a self-addressed stamped (Rs. 50/-) envelope of 30 c.m. x 12 c.m. size SC/ST candidates are exempted from paying any fees. Candidates called for interview will be paid sleeper class railway fare by the shortest route as per rules on production of tickets.

ii) Application form may also be downloaded from the institute’s website ismdhanbad.ac.in and submitted with necessary fees to the Deputy Registrar (Estt.), Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad – 826 004.
