Online applications are invited from the eligible candidates for approximately 580 vacant posts of Assistant Professors (Vyakhyata Sahayak) in faculties of Arts, Science, Commerce, Law and Education in Government colleges on 11 months contractual basis with a fixed pay of Rs 16500/- for the academic year 2014-15.

Educational Qualifications:
A. Arts, Commerce, Science and Law faculty subjects:
According to the guidelines of the University Grants Commission, the candidate must have possess minimum 55 % marks at post graduate level and must have cleared UGC NET (certificate) or GSLET (certificate) examination.
Candidates from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Differently Disabled categories of the Gujarat origin will be entitled to a maximum of 5% relaxation at postgraduate level without considering grace marks.
In respect of the candidates who have passed post-graduation before 19-09-1991 and having Ph.D. will get relaxation of 5 % marks.
Candidates with Ph.D. qualification as per University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, will be exempted from NET/SLET qualification. Such candidates with Ph.D. qualification as per University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, have to produce a certificate from the competent authority of the respective University in this regard.

B. For Education faculty (B.Ed. Colleges) :
Minimum 50 % marks at Graduate level in respective subject method, Minimum 50 % marks in Master's degree in the relevant subject and M.Ed. with relevant subject (Minimum 55 % marks in M.Ed. or equivalent grade) and NET/SLET/SET.
Candidates from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Differently Disabled categories of Gujarat origin will be entitled to a maximum of 5% relaxation at postgraduate level in accordance with the UGC Regulation 2009.

Age:
1 Maximum 30 years for Arts, Commerce and Science faculties.
2 Maximum of 35 years for Law faculty.
Maximum of 32 years for Education faculty.

Merit calculation : According to the Government Resolution dated 17/06/2009 of Education Department, Government of Gujarat, marks obtained out of 90 merit points will be considered. No test or interview will be conducted

Appointment period:
The appointment will be for 11 months and the candidates will be relieved as and when a GPSC candidate is available or a day before ending second term of a college affiliated to the respective university's regular academic year 2014-15, whichever is earlier.
Under no circumstances the appointment of the candidate will be extended after the period of 11 months.

How to Apply :
i) Eligible candidates can submit their applications online on cheguj.com from 03-07-2014 to 09-07-2014 by following the instructions on website

ii) Online application form will open by logging in on website after registration. Application form should be filled up carefully. Correction can be made by the candidates in his/her form before 09/07/2014. No correction or updating can be made after this date. If the candidate makes any mistake in the online application form, his/her application form will not be considered. It is mandatory for every candidate to give his/her mobile number in the application form which should not be changed till the completion of recruitment process

iii) Candidates have to take a print of their application form by downloading from the website after applying online and have to keep it with them to produce whenever asked.

iv) The names of the short listed candidates (Subject and category wise) will be displayed at 17.00 hours on 11-07-2014.

v) Short listed candidates will have to log in on the website and download call letter for their certificates / documents verification. Candidates have to remain present for document verification on the date and time as mentioned in the call letter on their own expense. If a candidate fails to remain present on given time and date, his/her right of appointment will be cancelled.

vi) Verification of certificates and documents will be done at

vii) At the time of document verification, candidates will be provided list of vacant post/s of their subject. Candidates will have to give their choice against all the colleges of the list.

viii) At the time of verification of certificates of candidates, if their merit rank gets reduced and if the reduced marks are less than the cut-off marks for respective subject and category, then college will not be allotted to such candidate during that round.

ix) Candidate who got verified their certificates and documents and having merit marks greater than the cut off marks of shortlisted candidates in the respective subject/category will be allotted a college by the system on the basis of their merit marks and their preference order of college on 19/07/2014 at 17.00 hours.
