Ph.D Programme:
A candidate who wishes to be accepted as a student for Ph.D, research programme must satisfy the following academic criteria:-

I. A candidate for admission to the degree of Ph.D, in any of the Faculties must have obtained the Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (CGPA 5.5 – 6 in a scale of 10) of any recognized University. If the candidate secured less than 55% marks at the postgraduate examination but has secured 50% marks at postgraduate as well as degree level, he/she will be eligible for admission to Ph.D. program. A relaxation of 5% in the minimum eligibility shall be applicable to the candidates belonging to the categories of SC/ST physically handicapped and visually impaired.

II. The Master’s degree should have been obtained after taking the Bachelor’s degree with full prescribed Courses for the degree.

III. Candidates, who are graduate and have either a minimum 5 years standing in the profession (practice or service) or 5 years experience of teaching postgraduate classes, shall also be eligible for doing Ph.D in faculty of Social Science, Commerce and Management.
a) A member (Associate or Fellow) of the Institute or Charted Accountants of India.
b) A member (Associate or Fellow) of the Institute of the Cost & Works Accountants of India.
c) A member (Associate or Fellow) of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India.

IV. Teachers/employees who are in service in Raffles University or any other recognized University/College/Research Institute in India and have a minimum of two years teaching experience will be considered if they get no objection certificate from their employers.

V. Candidates sponsored by their employers shall be considered only if they get study leave for a period of two years.

ENTRANCE TEST :
I. The admission to the course shall be made through entrance test here in after referred to as Raffles University Research Eligibility Test (RU-RET).

II. Entrance test in Ph.D, program shall be conducted twice in a Academic year.

III. The University shall issue notification regarding entrance test for admission to Ph.D. programme in the news paper and the University web site about the number of seats in various subjects.

IV. The candidate will be given admission through entrance test to ensure quality, to be organized by the University. The test should examine research aptitude, grasp of the subject, intellectual ability and general knowledge of the prospective candidates.

V. The entrance test shall be conducted by the Registrar which will be responsible for conducting of the entrance test.

VI. The University shall determine the number of centers for conducting RU-RET.

VII. Online facility for RU-RET shall be available for Foreign students and NRI’s on request.

VIII. Once paid, the cost of prospectus for the entrance test shall in no case be refunded.

IX. Those students after qualifying the RU-RET fail to get admission to a Ph.D programme to any reason in the academic session shall enroll himself/herself for Ph.D. within a period of Two year from the date of declaration of the result of the said Test. Other than that shall be required to reappear and qualify RET if and when he/she desires to seek admission to Ph.D Programme.
