WALK IN INTERVIEW

The National Centre for Antarctic & Ocean Research (NCAOR), an autonomous Society under the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India, is looking for prospective candidates for filling up the following Positions under the below mentioned projects. The positions are purely temporary and on a project mode, initially for a period of one year. Candidates fulfilling the prescribed eligibility conditions are invited to attend a walk-in-interview at NCAOR on 23rd January 2013 (Wednesday)

1.Name of the post : Research Scientist B
No. of post : 03
Essential : Qualification
(i) Masters Degree in Marine Geophysics/Geophysics/Physics/Marine Sciences/Marine Geology/ Hydrography from a recognized University with at least 60% marks at Graduation and Post Graduation level.
(ii) Experience : Two years of academic /R&D
Desirable : Experience in
(1) Marine geophysical data & multi-beam bathymetric data, acquisition processing and interpretation
(2) Participation in scientific cruises
(3) Research publication in the related field.

2.Name of the post : Junior Research Fellow

Essential : Qualification:
(i) Masters Degree in Marine Geophysics/Geophysics/Physics/Marine Sciences/Marine Geology/ Hydrography with at least 60% marks at Graduation and Post Graduation level.
Desirable : Experience in
(1) Marine geophysical data & multi-beam bathymetric data, acquisition processing and interpretation
(2) Participation in scientific cruises

3.Name of the post : Junior Research Fellow

Essential : Qualification:
(i) Masters Degree in Physics or M.Sc or M. Tech in Remote Sensing with Physics and Mathematics with at least 60% marks at Graduation and Post Graduation level.
(ii) Programming in Matlab/IDL and other software like ENVI, FORTRAN, C++ etc.
(iii) Working knowledge in UNIX/LINUX environments
Desirable : Experience: Sea going experience. Preference will be given to candidate with some research experience

Age Limit :
Research Scientist ‘B’ : Not exceeding 35 years
Junior Research Fellow : Not exceeding 28 years
