B. Tech Admissions :
Amrita University conducts an entrance exam every year in various cities across the country for admission to the B.Tech. programs at its three Schools of Engineering located at Amritapuri, Bengaluru and Coimbatore.

Important Dates for 2013 B.Tech Entrance Examination :
Issue of Application forms begins : 21 - 12 - 2012
Last date of issue of application forms : 18 - 03 - 2013
Last date for receiving completed applications : 20 - 03 - 2013
Date of Entrance Examination : 21 - 04 - 2013 ( Sunday - FN)

Eligibility :
Age : Candidates born on or after 1st July 1992 are only eligible.

Educational Qualification :
A pass in the final examination of 10+2 ( class XII ) or its equivalent securing 60% or above marks in Mathematics, 55% or above separately in Physics and Chemistry with an aggregate of 60% in the three subjects.

A three year Diploma in Engineering with minimum 60% marks, awarded by any State Board of Technical Education.

Note : Candidates appearing for the above examinations in March/ April 2013 may also apply.

How can I apply for B.Tech admission 2013?

Application form:
** Application form will be in a format that can be processed by Optical Mark Reader(OMR).

** Cost of Application kit is Rs. 850/-, which covers the cost of Application form, University Brochure, Examination fee etc. Application fee once paid will not be refunded.

Where to get Application forms?
Application forms can be obtained as below
** In person from the University counter of Amrita Schools of Engineering at Amritapuri, Bengaluru and Coimbatore on producing a Demand Draft for Rs 850/- drawn in favour of Amrita School of Engineering payable at Coimbatore.

** Take a printout (Laser or inkjet only) of the completed application on a good quality A4 size paper; enclose a demand draft for Rs. 850/- drawn in fovour of Amrita School of Engineering Payable at Coimbatore; paste a recent passport size colour photograph; affix signature of Candidate & Parent / Guardian and send in good quality envelope to the address below. ** Candidate should write his / her Name and "B.Tech. Application" on the back of the Demand Draft. Please keep a photocopy of the filled-in application and Demand Draft for future reference.

Could you please send me the entrance exam pattern?

Entrance Examination Pattern:
The duration of the Examination is 3 hours (10 AM to 1 PM). There will be only one question paper containing objective type questions in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Each question will be followed by four answers of which only one is correct / most appropriate. The question booklet will be in English. Each question carries 3 marks. Negative mark (-1) will be awarded for each wrong answer.

Subject Combination :
Mathematics - 60 questions
Physics - 30 questions
Chemistry - 30 questions
Total No. of Questions - 120 questions
Total Marks ( 120 x 3 ) = 360 marks

Bus Service :
From Palakkad side, get down at Ettimadai (Amrita College) bus stop on the NH-47 and hire an auto rickshaw to the campus (3 kms). From Coimbatore, board bus numbers 96, 48, S2 or 3G and get down at Ettimadai (Amrita College) bus stop and hire an auto rickshaw to the campus (3 kms).

Scholarship Scheme: Norms
** Scholarship will be provided to 15% of the top ranking candidates, who passed the qualifying examination from Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu and admitted in the respective campuses.
** Scholarship amount of Rs. 50,000/- per annum will be waived from the tuition fee.
** Award of scholarship will be governed by the rules framed for the purpose.

My son would like to appear for the B Tech. Entrance Exam 2013. He wanted to give Trissur as the Exam Centre. The exam is scheduled to be held on 21st April, 2013 wherein the same day Trissur Pooram is also scheduled and the traffic would be restricted in Thrissur Town and suburbs as well. Then he would find it difficult to commute. Any plan to postpone/prepone the exam. Please reply so as plan accordingly..
