Vishwavidyalaya Research Entrance Test (VRET) & Admission under VRET- Exempted Category

Guru Ghasidas Vihwavidyalaya invites applications for admission to programmes leading to Doctor of Philosophy Degree (herein after referred to as the Ph. D. Degree) in various disciplines.

School of Studies : Disciplines in which VRET will be held
1. Arts : English, Library & Information Science, Physical Education.
2. Social Sciences : Economics, Education, History, Political Science and Social work
3. Physical Sciences : Chemistry, Electronics and Physics
4. Life Sciences : Bio-Technology, Botany and Zoology
5. Mathematical & Computational Sciences : Computer Science & Information Technology and Mathematics
6. Natural Resources : Forestry, Wild Life & Environmental Sciences, Rural Technology & Social Development and Pharmaceutical Sciences
7. Management & Commerce : Business Administration

QUALIFYING EXAMINATION AND MINIMUM PERCENTAGE OF MARKS :
A candidate shall be required to have passed the qualifying examination securing the minimum percentage of marks at the time of applying for VRET as per details given below;
Details of Qualifying Examinations : Any degree mentioned under the qualifying examination for each school of studies in the following pertains to the degree awarded by this University or any other University established by law for the time being in force or any other degree recognized as equivalent thereto in that subject.

APPLICATION PROCESSING/TEST FEE :
A candidate desirous of appearing in VRET or VRET (Exempted Category) shall pay the Processing/Test Fee of Rs.600/- in case of General/OBC/PC Category and Rs.250/- in case of SC/ST Category along with the Application Form through a crossed Demand Draft (DD) issued by any Nationalized/Scheduled Bank or SBI Challan in favor of the “Registrar, Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya”, payable at Bilaspur.

TEST CENTRE :
The Vishwavidyalaya Research Entrance Test (VRET) shall be conducted at Bilaspur, University Campus only, on 15th February, 2013.

HOW TO APPLY :
Application forms can be submitted online / offline both.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORM :
The completed application form can be submitted to the

by speed post/registered post/hand delivery so as to reach the office of Assistant Registrar (Academic) on or before 08/02/2013.

2. Closing of Online/Off Line Application Process : 28-Jan-2013
3. Last Date of receipt of hard copy of the application from submitted online/off line : 08-Feb-2013

5. Declaration of Result : 22-Feb-2013

Candidate submitting the application online can deposit fee through State Bank of India (SBI) Challan generated after online registration. The Challan can be print and after depositing the fee on any SBI branch, applicant can log in by ID & Date of Birth (Password) for online filling the form

NOTE:
(i) The applicant submitting the application form offlineis advised to write his/her name, name of the main discipline, code number of main discipline on the reverse of the Demand Draft.
(ii) The Processing/Test Fee paid shall neither be refunded nor transferred to another course and shall also not be reserved for any subsequent year, in any case.
(iii) The applicant is advised to ensure that the Demand Draft (issued by a Bank) fulfills the following requirements:
**In favour of: “Registrar, Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya”, payable at Bilaspur (C.G.).
**It clearly mentions: (a) Date of issue (b) Name & Code No. of issuing branch (c) Name & Code no. of drawee branch (d) Signature ofthe authorized person along with specimen signature (e) Amount in words and figures (f) Applicant’s name, name of the main discipline and code number of main discipline on the back of the draft.
IMPORTANT: If the Demand Draft is incomplete/incorrectly drawn, the candidate will be disqualified unless he/she resubmits the corrected Demand Draft along with additional fee of Rs.150/-.

Last Date of receipt of hardcopy of the application from submitted online/off line : 08-Feb-2013
