Educational Qualifications And Experience :
1. Reader (General Medicine) :
(i) A basic University or equivalent qualification included in any one of the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and must be registered in a State Medical Register or Indian Medical Register;
(ii) M.D. (Medicine) / M.D. (General Medicine) from a recognized University/ Institution or equivalent.
(iii) Five year's teaching experience in the concerned speciality after acquiring postgraduate qualification as Assistant Professor/Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in a recognized Medical College / Teaching Institution.

2. Reader/(Endocrinology) (Neurology), (Medical Gastroenterology), (Vascular & Thoracic Surgery) and (Plastic Surgery). :
(i) A basic University or equivalent qualification included in any one of the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and must be registered in a State Medical Register or Indian Medical Register.
(ii) D.M. / M.Ch. or equivalent in the concerned speciality from a recognized Medical College / Teaching Institution.
(iii) two year's teaching experience in the concerned speciality as Assistant Professor / Senior Lecturer in a Recognized Medical College / Teaching Institution.
Desirable : Minimum four Research Publications indexed in Index Medicus / National Journals.

3. Senior Lecturer/(Endocrinology ) (Neurology), (Medical Gastroenterology), (Vascular & Thoracic Surgery) (Cardiology), (Urology) and (Plastic Surgery). :
(i) A basic University or equivalent qualification included in any one of the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and must be registered in a State Medical Register or Indian Medical Register.
(ii) D.M. / M.Ch. (03 years) or DM./M.Ch (02 years) with one year teaching experience in the concerned speciality or equivalent from a recognized Medical College / Teaching Institution.
(iii) Three year's teaching experience in the concerned speciality as Resident / Registrar / Demonstrator/ Tutor in a Recognized Medical College / Teaching Institution.

4. Senior Lecturer/ Biochemistry :
I.A i) A basic University or equivalent qualification included in any one of the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and must be registered in a State Medical Register or Indian Medical Register.
Aii) M.D. (Biochemistry)/MBBS with M.Sc.(Medical Biochemistry) from a recognized University / Institution or equivalent. OR
B (i) M.Sc. (Medical Biochemistry) from a recognized University or equivalent.
B (ii) Ph.D. (Medical Biochemistry)/D.Sc. (Medical Biochemistry) from a recognized University / Institution or equivalent.
II) Three year's teaching experience in the concerned speciality after acquiring post-graduate qualification as Lecturer/ Registrar/Senior Resident/ Demonstrator/ Tutor in a Recognized Medical College/Teaching Institution.

5. Senior Lecturer/ Community Medicine :
(i) A basic University or equivalent qualification included in any one of the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and must be registered in a State Medical Register or Indian Medical Register;
(ii) M.D.(Social and Preventive Medicine)/ M.D. (Community Medicine) from a recognized University/ Institution or equivalent.
(iii) Three year's teaching experience in the concerned speciality after acquiring postgraduate qualification as Lecturer/ Registrar / Senior Resident/ Demonstrator/ Tutor in a recognized Medical College / Teaching Institution.

What is the salary structure for Senior Lecturer in Government Medical College?

The Medical Faculty Staff appointed on contractual basis will be paid the following consolidated contractual emoluments per month in pursuance of instructions issued by Department of Personnel, Chandigarh Administration: -

The above said consolidated contractual emoluments, as fixed will remain the same during the period of contract. It is also made clear that the person so engaged shall not be paid anything, in any form, over and above the amount of contract.
