ADMISSION TO NEW P.G. COURSES
Kerala University of Fisheries & Ocean Studies came into existence for the development of Fisheries and Ocean Studies and for ensuring proper systematic instruction, teaching, training research and extension, in Fisheries, Ocean Studies and allied subjects as per Act 5 of 2011, and the Government Order (P) No.50/2011/F& PD dtd. 10.5.2011, Government of Kerala. At present, there are two regional stations, one at Puthuvepu in Ernakulam district, and the other at Thiruvallom, Thiruvananthapuram district apart from the headquarters at Panangad, Kochi. The courses currently offered are B.F.Sc, M.F.Sc and Ph.D. programmes. This year (KUFOS) is starting the following PG programmes for which applications are invited. 1.M B A : Fisheries Management & Finance/Marketing/ H.R./ Rural Management.
Eligibility :
Graduate in Science, Arts, Commerce or professional graduates from Indian/Foreign Universities recognized by AICTE/UGC/ICAR/KUFOS with minimum 55% marks in traditional system (5% concession to SC /ST Candidates) or a minimum OGPA of 7.0/10.0 (6.5/10.0 for SC /ST Candidates).
Candidates awaiting their final results of the qualifying degree can also apply for the MBA course, but they should produce their qualifying degree/mark list on or before the date prescribed for the GD and interview.

2. M.Sc. : Physical Oceanography & Ocean Modelling
Eligibility :
B.Sc. with 55% or 5.5/10.0 or 2.2/4.0 marks in any of the following subject combinations.
1. Physics main with Mathematics and Chemistry as subsidiaries
2. Physics main with Mathematics and Statistics as Subsidiaries
3. Physics main with Mathematics and Computer Science/Computer applications as subsidiaries.
4. Physics main with Mathematics and Electronics as Subsidiaries
5. Physics main with Mathematics and Geography as subsidiaries
6. Mathematics with Physics and Statistics as subsidiaries
7. Mathematics main with Physics and Computer Science / Computer Applications as subsidiaries.
8. Three main with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry
9. Three main with Physics, Mathematics and Statistics

3. M.Sc. : Biological Oceanography & Biodiversity
Eligibility :
B.Sc. with 55% or 5.5/10.0 or 2.2/4.0 marks in any of the following subject combinations.

2. B.Sc. Aquaculture
3. B.Sc. Industrial Fish and Fisheries
4. B.F.Sc.

4. M.F.Sc. : Fish Nutrition and Feed Technology
Eligibility : Bachelor’s degree in Fisheries Science (B.F.Sc) recognized by Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies with an OGPA of 7.0/10.0 (In the case of SC/ST candidates an OGPA of 6.5/10.0). Three year B.F.Sc. degree holders of other Universities and traditional Universities are not eligible for admission. For graduates of Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies, under UG regulation 2007 of Kerala Agricultural University, the minimum O.G.P.A. is 6.0 / 10.0 for General category and 5.5 / 10.0 for SC / ST category

5. M.F.Sc. : Fisheries Economics
Eligibility : Bachelor’s degree in Fisheries Science (B.F.Sc) recognized by Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies with an OGPA of 7.0/10.0 (In the case of SC/ST candidates an OGPA of 6.5/10.0). Three year B.F.Sc. degree holders of other Universities and traditional Universities are not eligible for admission. For graduates of Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies, under UG regulation 2007 of Kerala Agricultural University, the minimum O.G.P.A. is 6.0 / 10.0 for General category and 5.5 / 10.0 for SC / ST category

Fee : Demand Draft for 750/- (SC/ST: 375/-only) in favour of the Finance Officer, Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies, payable at SBT Ernakulam.

How to Apply :
i) Application Form, Prospectus and Hall Ticket can be downloaded either from the above website or directly from KUFOS office, Cochin.
ii) Filled up Application addressed to the Registrar, KUFOS should be accompanied by a Demand Draft.
